I am a scientist, with a PhD in Materials Science and plenty of quantum mechanics in my background (though obviously, I don't know it anywhere near as well as a dedicated physicist in the area would) - Deepak Chopra does not have the faintest understanding of quantum mechanics.Quantum healing asserts that, in this scenario, the mind has the capability to heal the body through shifts of energy. As far as the literary qualities of the book are concerned, I would say it is about eighty percent successful. I wish I could enter into some debate on thermodynamics, quantim mechanics or even good old classical mechanics, but there's actually nothing in Chopra’s book about these things in any technical way. But without a doubt, our bodies have their source in the quantum field, and so we won’t understand fully what the body is doing until it is traced back to the source.Part One “How to Revolutionize the Human Body” introduces you to the importance of shifting your viewpoint from the physical to the quantum. Inspirational, mind expanding and really interesting look at the boundary between the body and the mind. Meditation, the mind-body connection, and alternative medicine (which expanded to become integrative medicine) don’t raise an eyebrow. Chopra is a bullshit merchant and nothing of his own theories stands up to any scientific investigation.
