I like the sharpness and zesty effect of lemon, I believe this is quite apparent because of high amounts of Citronellol. With that said it’s not a horrible fragrance and I can see certain people enjoying this but I am not one of those ! they start with a grapefruit that looks a little artificial and is more soft than citric, but very refreshing. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag.

Of course it’s better to wear richer and stronger fragrances like Spicebomb, Le Male Elixir, Fahrenheit, Man In Black, etc. However, to me and my still fairly untrained nose, it's like a potpourri of indistinguishable fruits.

Rosemary gives it a spicy backbone and it resembles a more gentle and subtle adg profumo in the drydown.

It opens very bright and citrusy, but then very quickly dries down to a smooth creamy drydown of AHS. This fragrance is a bold twist on the classic Hugo scent and is designed for the modern man who loves to stand out from the crowd. I was looking for someone new for the summer and this smelled interesting so I thought I'd give it a try.When my husband first sprayed this on, it smelled more like alcohol than anything scented, but once the smell of the alcohol dissipated, it smells really good. If you are looking for something new or exciting then this isn't for you - if you are looking for something really, really citrus fresh, clean and relaxing then it is one of the best recent examples. Reminds me of being in an open-sky terrace at a nice Italian restaurant because the potency of the rosemary is pretty straight-forward from the beginning, as if a grown bush was nearby emitting its beautiful natural oils after a full day under the sun. Bottom Line The scent was pleasant and reminded me of some other top mens scents but I give it 4 Stars since to get 5 I should have loved it or at least a couple of the people I let try it should have. As with all new fragrances start off with a small amount until you see how strong of a scent you like, or how powerful it is on you.

I was a bit surprised when someone asked me what I was wearing, because I thought that by that time, it was gone. for a 30ml bottle, though, I bought it and have been using it to freshen my clothes, linens, and car. It's not too bad either, with a good sillage for the first hour and then going down close to the skin. Based on the note breakdown, I was expecting something along the lines of TF's Grey Vetiver, but instead it's just your standard run of the mill generic blue frag.The fragrance reaches its peak with base notes of Haitian vetiver and cedarwood, leaving a lasting and confident trail. Pamplewood is an aroma chemical of grapefruit and woods, so likely where the ambroxan others have mentioned comes from. I do detect an ambroxan note I guess I can understand the elysium comparison as they both open with heavy citrus, but that is as far as I would go with that comparison, because I honestly don't believe they smell very similar.

It may not be quite as effervescent or use the same high quality ingredients, but it comes damn close, really damn close! The brand has wanted to capture in this launch its years of evolution since the first HUGO that emerged in 1995.I also get the comparison to sauvage, but even less so in the mid where the fuzzy ambroxan feel begins to show itself. This is a safe fragrance and it's nothing groundbreaking, but I do think this will be a great pickup for someone who wants an aquatic fragrance that's not too aquatic (Light Blue eau Intense, Aqva Amara Atlantique, etc. This is actually a very nice, bright fragrance, quite invigorating and clean, it really caught me off guard when I first tried it a couple of years ago, I now have a sample.
