About this deal

With a powerful yet soft continuous light, and up to 3 stops more flash power than the previous generation, NEO 3 is the brightest LED on-camera light ever made. It’s not as well-made as previous phones in the series, you can get better cameras and more power for your cash elsewhere too. The curved sides of the screen look good from a distance, but are only a hindrance in day to day use, though luckily the provided case solves this issue.

While this is a very accomplished and usable phone, for a little more money you can get a handset with superior performance and software. The score is derived from a number of objective measurements in the lab and perceptual analysis of real-life images. That means it’s good for five to six hours of screen on time, which represents a seriously heavy day of usage. Available in black, blue and silver, the handset has a textured matte back which also gives it a good grip, unlike more slippery, glossy phones. The Oppo Find X3 Neo doesn't come carrying the very best specs that you'll find on an Android phone this year, but it gets pretty close – and it can definitely hold its own with the top flagships.

It's a lot cheaper than the Pro model, but it might have made just one compromise too many along the way. However, the Neo's screen is super-bright, which pairs well with the slim-and-light style if you mostly just want a phone that won’t get on your nerves. It comes with a number of battery saving features, including the option to limit the screen refresh rate to 60Hz to eke out a few extra hours should the situation demand. The impressive specs continue with a hefty 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage (which isn't expandable).

The 90Hz refresh rate adds a touch of extra smoothness, while the HDR10+ support means colors always stay well balanced and details always stay visible in streaming apps like Netflix and Prime Video. Its Photo score of 117 is among the lower scores in the Premium segment, tying the Huawei P40 but fairly distant from the iPhone 12’s score of 132. There’s also HDR10+ support which means that you’ll get the best experience possible from the likes of Netflix, with tonnes of detail and accurate colours. There is plenty of detail once again, no saturation is lost in the image, and the brightness isn’t boosted to crazy levels, as with the TCL 10 5G. This phone is noticeably brighter than the OnePlus Nord 2T, for example, which isn't entirely me eating my words, rather more giving credit where it's due. You can also make tweaks in the display section of the phone settings: there are cooler and warmer options for the screen temperature as well as the standard default, while there's also a setting for reducing your eyes' exposure to blue light late at night. The Oppo Find X2 Neo has a charming in-hand feel, versatile cameras, great speakers, and a screen worth bragging about.

Even with 90Hz forced as perpetually ‘on’ it would never fail to make it to midnight having been unplugged at 7am.The front doesn’t feature the same curved edges as the other members of the Edge 30 family, with thin bezels surrounding the 6. If you want flagship-level performance and an excellent camera system, but you don’t want to spend loads of money and you aren’t fussed about extra features like waterproofing and wireless charging, then the Oppo Find X3 Neo 5G could be the right choice for you.
