The cards are shuffled, and ten cards are dealt face down into the center of the table. The youngest player who is given the bomb starts it by pressing the red button underneath. If there is a tie, then there will be a play-off between the qualifying players to establish an ultimate winner.

Once the player has stated a word, they pass the bomb to the left to the next player. The timer on the bomb is variable and will ‘explode’ somewhere over ten seconds but less than 60 seconds. The player holding the bomb when it explodes has to keep the card for that round, and the player with the fewest cards at the end of the 13th round wins the game. A word may not be used twice in a round, but may be used in a subsequent round. For a more challenging game, do not allow simple derivatives to be used. For example, if "PLAY" has been used, do not use "PLAYS", "PLAYED", "PLAYING", etc. When a challenge is made, the player who has been passed the bomb timer may prefer to say a different word and pass the bomb timer on, rather than run the risk of a challenge being overruled and the bomb timer exploding.

Components

The twist? Players only have a limited amount of time to come up with their word or phrase! Once the timer runs out, the bomb “explodes,” and the player holding the bomb is given . Before playing with younger children is a good idea to go through the cards together, so that everybody becomes familiar with the pictures. The letters may be used anywhere in the word. If the bomb timer explodes before the decision is made, and the word is accepted, the player who initially challenged the word loses the round.
