About this deal

It was fun reading a story from Daisy’s point of view. Despite the fact that she is spoiled, thoughtless and quite full of herself, I am very fond of Daisy. I love how dramatic and clever she is. She is a unique and interesting main character.

I think that the new girl will be hurt somehow in the woods, and Daisy and Hazel witness it but the new girl doesn’t know they did. And while Daisy had despised her and tried to avoid her, becomes intrigued after the new girl doesn’t tell anyone what happened and instead blames it on something else in the school. Then the new girl’s parents come down and start threatening to press charges, and Daisy and Hazel have to prove that it wasn’t the school’s fault and prove what happened in the woods.Robin's books are: Murder Most Unladylike (Murder is Bad Manners in the USA), Arsenic for Tea (Poison is Not Polite in the USA), First Class Murder, Jolly Foul Play, Mistletoe and Murder, Cream Buns and Crime, A Spoonful of Murder, Death in the Spotlight and Top Marks for Murder. She is also the author of The Guggenheim Mystery, the sequel to Siobhan Dowd's The London Eye Mystery. Have you ever thought about making a film or TV series based on the books? I think that would be a cool idea! Oh, wow, wow, wow (sorry that sort of sounds like Howl, LOL), this is the best news ever, or until I can publish my own book. I love Scarlet and Ivy too! Scarlet and Ivy and Wells and Wong are what got me into mystery in the first place, which then led me on to read the Sinclair’s Mysteries, and now I’m completely addicted to Agatha Christie’s books!!! Recently, I’ve even started to write my own detective novel – it’s been a lot of fun, though it’s really hard to write. But I don’t think I can bring myself to write a murder mystery! I don’t want anyone to die!!!

Noooo…why do one of the detective society have to die? I hope it’s Amina, because she’s now part of the detective society AND she’s from Egypt. Maybe she’s going on holiday and the duo are invited? Or it could be Kitty, Beanie or Lavinia, but I don’t want them to die. I can’t stand Daisy or Hazel dying, though. My friends and I have ‘A Spoonful of Murder’ as our number 1 out of the series because we all love Hazel, but we are wondering if this one will take its spot! I only started reading the first book yesterday and I finished it yesterday. I love the series can’t wait to read them all. Daisy is my favourite character so can’t wait to read the case of the blue violet.

Hi Lydia, I have the feeling that quite a few people might have suggested it to them! They were really excited to work with me and it was a dream come true for me too. She’s a bit more grown-up than my books (mainly because everyone in them ARE grown-ups, with all of the usual grown-up problems), but there’s nothing in them that’s really gory or rude! I started reading them when I was 12 and never got upset by anything in them, although some of the murders scared me a bit. I think you should start with Murder on the Orient Express, or Death on the Nile. Those are two of my favourites! You’ll also find four stories that haven’t ever been published before. There’s The Case of the Uninvited Guest, the account of exactly what happened at Uncle Felix and Aunt Lucy’s wedding. I actually first wrote this story in 2017 – and I’m very excited that you’ll finally get to read it! This being a short story, it's not quite as resonant as some of her longer work, but it's a sweet story fleshing out the career of my two favourite detectives, and a lovely thing to read before bedtime last night.
