About this deal

We have a range adaptors available allowing us to refill most NOS, Nytrex, Cold Fusion, Nitrous Express, Highpower and Wizards of NOS bottles. Just to clarify, a 5lb bottle won't actually hold 5lb's of nitrous (sounds crazy I know). It's in fact a 2 kg bottle which is just about 4.5 lbs of nitrous. However, it's pretty easy to squeeze in that extra 1/2 lb. having done a bit of messing around and the static testing the 20oz was low so thought a top would be a good idea, bottle in freezer over night, hooked up to filler sat on scales -bit of a hiss..... then nothing! no weight gain nothing! all thats left in 11lb bottle is gas!

Nitrous oxide tanks and cylinders offer high-quality food-grade nitrous oxide, which offers maximum efficiency cream charging experience and cutting edge technology. The advent of drag racing's Pro Mod class in the 1980s provided a boost of popularity to NOS. In fact, both the first 200 mph run and the first 6-second run were aided by NOS. Racers and performance enthusiasts at every level took notice of these remarkable feats. It is conceivable to say that nearly every significant performance milestone with nitrous was done with the NOS brand. Race reports show that the NOS brand still powers more racers than all others. In 2015, the then chair of the ACMD, Prof Leslie Iversen, told the home secretary at the time, Theresa May, that possession of laughing gas should remain legal. All of our nitrous oxide (NOS) canisters for sale contain 100% nitrous oxide and are safe for use with food. Our nitrous oxide (NOS) canisters are available in a range of well-known, trusted brands on the market, iSi, Pro Whip, Mosaand Liss.If you'd like a copy of that and one of the 5th Gear piece we did, we're giving away a free CD with each copy of my book. The gas produces sensations of euphoria, giggling and hallucinations, but can also cause dizziness and impaired memory, as well as accidents from leg weakness. It can also cause neurological problems by inactivating the vitamin B12. Nitrous works in more than one way, but primarily it all adds to the same effect. It gives your engine more oxygen to burn, which in turn allows more fuel to burn creating more power. To gain a better understanding of how nitrous works you need to know two things.

Your method (assuming you're using accurate scales) is the right way to determine your empty and full weights.

Please note we will strictly only fill Nitrous bottles for use in motor vehicles, and reserve the right to decline refilling any bottle which we deem to be unsafe. These actually inject the nitrous into the intake system. They need to spray a mix of fuel and nitrous together depending on whether the kit is a wet or dry system. Distributing the nitrous is easy due to the high pressure. It’s the fuel that’s the problem to get right, so these injectors are designed to give a crossfire spray pattern which is better for atomization of the two substances. Lines This type of kit is the more common set-up found in most applications. As a majority of cars cannot run a dry set up sufficiently, wet kits offer an additional fuel supply from a designated solenoid as well as one for nitrous. They tap into the car’s fuel supply near the inlet manifold and therefore rely on the standard fuel pressure and pump. There’s more control on offer with a wet kit. Using something like a progressive controller will make the most of this by strategically delaying and monitoring the supply. Direct port So, weighing my bottle, i can now say that the full weight of the bottle was 8lbs exactly and using the empty figure above of 6.09lbs then according to my calculations I have 1.91lbs of liquid in the bottle!! so the 5lb bottle holds 4.5lbs of liquid so that must mean that the bottle is missing approximately 2.59lbs!! So its approx half full!! Firstly, it contains around 16 per cent more oxygen than air. Secondly, nitrous is a liquid that boils to become a gas. Therefore, for it to work properly and to its full potential, it’s imperative to make sure it’s still in liquid form as it reaches the intake manifold. This will maximize the heat exchange with the intake charge.

As the name suggests, this is simply a nitrous kit (wet or dry but normally the former) that uses only one injector to inject the mixture into the intake system. To give an even distribution it is normally fitted just after the throttle body. This allows for the inlet manifold’s characteristics to deliver the nitrous evenly to all the cylinders. To allow the pressurized nitrous to reach the engine, the kit relies on solenoids to open that are triggered electronically. The WON kits use a solenoid that allows the nitrous to take the most simple and unrestrictive path through to ensure the high pressure from the bottle and lines is maintained. The solenoids are also designed so they can be pulsed. This means that when they are linked to a controller, they can carefully ration the amount of nitrous that passes through them. They also incorporate a metering jet which increases response and makes them more efficient. The different nitrous oxide kits Dry kitsWith all of the talk about siphon tubes, we would be remiss if we didn’t also mention blowdown tubes and explain their function, which is wholly related to your safety as the driver of the vehicle. Racing sanctioning bodies typically require a hardline blowdown tube installed on every bottle in a nitrous-injected entry, and for good reason. The Dutch government is to introduce a ban on laughing gas this year following concerns about the risks it poses to health and to road safety, after a surge in traffic accidents linked to the drug including a series of fatalities. Cooler intake air is denser and therefore contains more oxygen, which will allow more fuel to be burned and in turn make more power. Just a 10 degree drop in temperature has the potential to increase an engines power by up to 1.5%. Nitrous oxide boils at -129°F and it begins to do that as soon as it’s injected into the intake manifold. To boil, the nitrous has to absorb heat from the intake charge and in so doing has the potential to reduce the intake air temperature by up to 80°, which means that if we were dealing with say a 400 hp engine, we could see a gain of over 30 hp from the cooling effect alone and as a bonus, this cooling effect also helps the engine stay below the detonation threshold. It’s the first immediate effect of this heat exchange that offers a large gain through the dramatic reduction of intake temperatures as the surrounding air is cooled; something that is especially important when it comes to turbo applications. Also, as a gas displaces more than a liquid, injecting in this form results in more charge in the cylinders. As it displaces less air, it’s through this massively-increased oxygen content that it allows more fuel to be burnt. Nitrogen & oxygen In 2021, the then home secretary, Priti Patel, asked the independent Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD) to review the harms of nitrous oxide with a view to a potential ban.

These are perfect for restaurants, bars, and cafés as they are much larger than standard cream chargers , enabling the production of higher volumes of whipped cream. If your bottle has anything other dash 4, M8 or M10 please let us know or bring with you a method of adapting your bottle outlet to dash 4 male otherwise we will be unable to fill your bottle for you. Toby forget the formulas etc., just weigh the bottle when it's empty and then add the contents weight for the full weight - it's that simple! The Super Hi Flo valve utilizes a handwheel that is integrated at a 45-degree angle to the nitrous flow, which assures maximum performance capability.Contrary to what you've been told the Jag did NOT suffer any engine problems from using the nitrous. The engine itself could have handle at least double that amount but the ignition and gearbox couldn't, as they both started to fail when we tried 250 hp. The use of nitrous oxide as a performance enhancement has been used since World War II. Allied aircraft used it for emergency boosts in airspeed and altitude capabilities. By the end of World War II, jet propulsion had been invented and the United States' government was losing interest in piston-powered aircraft. For nearly thirty years, the application of nitrous oxide on vehicles would be privileged information.
