About this deal

Moon Knight officially joins the Secret Avengers in 2010’s Vengeance of the Moon Knight #10 and leaves the group in issue #21. As a member of this team, he will be part of two Marvel events: Fear Itself and Onslaught Unleashed. During that time, the character will also become a member of the Heroes of Hire during 12 issues. Marc Spector was born in Chicago, Illinois, the Jewish-American son of a rabbi. But Marc refused to follow in his father’s footsteps and instead, he became boxer before joining the Marines. Later, he worked for the CIA and as a mercenary. It’s during a mission gone wrong in Egypt that Spector is left for dead at the feet of an idol to the Egyptian god Konshu, moon god and protector of travelers at night. Konshu resurrected Marc, giving him for the occasion enhanced physical abilities, making him the moon’s “knight of vengeance,” the “fist of Khonshu.”

Apparently this is the book/character that Sienkiewicz cut his teeth on. His storytelling is excellent. The art is a far cry from his later work and every few issues he has a different inker, each giving a slightly different feel to his work. Sometimes a little more "sketchy", while others offer a cleaner look. By the end of this omnibus though, you can see he starts to experiment with different panel shapes and layouts. And if anyone questions his drawing ability, take a look at the different plates he did for a Moon Knight Portfolio that are pencils only. Phenomenal! Marvel Fresh Start is the latest relaunch to date, marked by the return of Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, Logan, Odinson, and Bruce Banner. Until recently, Moon Knight didn’t have a series but it doesn’t mean the character disappeared. Instead, he worked with Frank Castle, battled Kang the Conqueror, helped the heroes of New York City, and more. Then: Infinity Crusade #1, Thor #464, Infinity Crusade #2, Web of Spider-Man #104 & Dr. Strange #55 For a long time, it was mostly an uncollected series for the moment. But now, Marvel is collecting it in a new Omnibus edition: In March, 2002, Dixon turned his attention to CrossGen's output, salthough he co-wrote with Scott Beatty the origin of Barbara Gordon's Batgirl in 2003's Batgirl: Year One. For CrossGen he took over some of the comics of the out-going Mark Waid, taking over Sigil from #21, and Crux with #13. He launched Way of the Rat in June 2002, Brath (March '03), The Silken Ghost (June '03) and the pirate comic El Cazador (Oct '03), as well as editing Robert Rodi's non-Sigilverse The Crossovers. He also wrote the Ruse spin-off Archard's Agents one-shots in January and November '03 and April '04, the last released shortly before CrossGen's complete collapse forced the cancellation of all of its comics, before which Dixon wrote a single issue of Sojourn (May '04). Dixon's Way of the Rat #24, Brath #14 and El Cazador #6 were among the last comics released from the then-bankrupt publisher.

Where to start reading Moon Knight?

Moon Knight also teamed-up with Spider-Man, the Punisher, Nova, and Night Thrasher in the Round Robin storyline at the end of 1991. Collects Marc Spector: Moon Knight #1-34, Amazing Spider-Man (1963) #353-358, Moon Knight: Divided We Fall And Material From Punisher Annual (1988) #2. Costretto in sedia a rotelle non può più essere Moon Knight, il Cavaliere della Luna, il difensore dei viaggiatori notturni.

After the end of his second volume and an appearance in Marvel Fanfare #38, Moon Knight joined the West Coast Avengers in 1987, with issue #21. It’s a brief membership, as he left the team in #41 in 1989, but one that has a connection with Khonshu. And you can find all those issues in omnibus: Also in this period: Also in this period: Marvel Knights 20th (2018) #4, The Punisher (2018) #14-16, Contagion (2019) #3-5, and a non-continuity appearance in History of the Marvel Universe (2019) #6 Collects a series of one-shot fights between heroes and villains from outside their franchise from Punisher Annual (2019) #1, Venom Annual (2019) #1, (Magnificent) Ms. Marvel Annual (2019) #1, Deadpool Annual (2019) #1, She-Hulk Annual (2019) #1, Ghost Spider Annual (2019) #1, Moon Knight Annual (2019) #1, Wolverine Annual (2019) #1. Collects Marc Spector: Moon Knight (1989) #1-34, Amazing Spider-Man (1963) #353-358, Moon Knight: Divided We Fall (1992) OGN, and material from Punisher (1988) Annual 2. In this same period, Marc makes his first major team appearance in over 20 years in Secret Avengers. All in all, this was a monumentally disappointing affair. We sure as hell don't need more bog standard Moon Knight stories to throw on the wasted altar that is this character's sad legacy. I'll return to Scarlet Redemption again and again, but the rest of this book may as well not exist. 2.5/5 See Avengers West Coast. Marc leaves the cast after issue #41, which is a relatively pivotal issue for his ongoing story. Devil’s Reign: See Guide to Marvel Universe Events – Devil’s Reign. Marc appears in Devil’s Reign (2021) #1 & 4 in addition to his one-shot. As the run progresses and the key concepts are established, Moench can then focus his attention on recurring villains, themes, and on telling stories beyond "villain of the month" stories. The final arc centering on Marc's father and his relationship to spirituality and religion as the son of a rabbi who serves an ancient Egyptian god is particularly poignant and is a great capstone. Similarly, the art takes some time to find its footing, but later issues finally manage to play more with shadows and the use of Moon Knight's costume and its distinctive color to contrast with his surroundings. Infinity War: See Guide to Marvel Universe Events – Infinity War. This crosses into issues #41-44. Marc appears in Infinity War #2-4 and across many tie-ins. Issue #4 contains action that continues through Moon Knight #41-44.
