The working day does not end until the store is in a presentable condition for the next day’s trading, the tills are cashed up and all end of day procedures are complete

Ensure that sales staff do not eat, chew gum, or use personal mobile phones on the shop floor, or have wallets or purses on their person Sharing your skills and knowledge with customers to help them provide the best possible care for their pets. You are responsible for organising the staffing in your store and that there is always appropriate cover. You will need to deliver correct staffing levels in line with your budget

In the absence of the management team, ensure that staff are at the store a minimum of 15 minutes before it is due to open and be ready to trade at the specified time Support the store manager in ensuring the team adhere to all health and safety and fire safety regulations daily In the absence of the store manager you may need to deal with any staff grievances that arise and escalate these to Store Manager if appropriate Ensure all staff are present and ready for work on time in the correct uniform – as per company policy Ensure that all customers are engaged with a friendly open-ended approach within a reasonable amount of time or when displaying buying signals
