About this deal

This section of The Tape Store is dedicated to what we call 'metric only' tape measures; those tapes that feature only metric graduations along their length. Put simply, millimetres, centimetres and metres. The BMI calculation divides an adult's weight in kilograms (kg) by their height in metres (m) squared. Find the bottom of your ribs and the top of your hips and place the tape measure around your middle at a point halfway between them (usually just above the belly button). Keep an ongoing record of your measurements to monitor progress, every two weeks is usually sufficient frequency. Place the tape measure directly on your skin. You should not wear more than one layer of light clothing.

Read more information about obesity. You may want to see a GP for help and advice. Waist to height ratio Wrap the tape measure under your armpits at the fullest part of your chest. Stand straight and don’t puff out chest

Contrary to popular belief which comes from amino acid infusion in deficient patients, consumption of amino acid supplements does not decrease body fat percentage and will not increase your chances during the application examination. Studies with healthy subjects do not provide evidence in support of using such supplements, including arginine, lysine, ornithine, tyrosine, and other amino acids, or combinations of them. No physical performance improvements were detected, either [2], so you better save your money on these. Expensive, in-a-lab methods are the most accurate; calipers probably give the best trade-off between cost, convenience and accuracy. But if you are just looking to monitor your progress, noticing how your clothes fit is as good as anything too. Using at least three spots on your body – chest, abs and thigh are often used – pinch the skin, pulling the muscle away from the fat and measure the fold with the calipers. Being underweight could be a sign you're not eating enough or you may be ill. If you're underweight, a GP can help.

Waist circumference is less reliable in overweight and obese people. Waist circumference and disease risk Overweight and obesity are health conditions of excess weight. They often result from eating too much food and/or not doing enough physical activity. Some people may need a more intensive approach. This can mean having a very low energy diet or taking weight loss medicine.Whilst this doesn't cover all of the available options, the following graphics should give you an idea of just what is achievable with this incredible company... Scales / Graduations To use the new tape test, measure your weight on a scale, then take a measurement of the circumference of your waist (abdomen) at the level of the belly button. The measurement should be in pounds (lbs) and inches (in). This section is about the old tape test used before mid-2023. Refer to the section above for the new tape test. Moving the scale to a storage place caninterfere with its weighing ability and deliver inaccurate results. Therefore, always repeat the above preparation (calibration).
