About this deal

Using the Genie on a slider is a little more difficult as the cords have to be pulled tight, but not too tight otherwise the Genie won’t thread through the cord. Also, setting up the cords can be a little fiddly at first. The Genie Mini is designed to play nicely with the Genie. Shoot next level 2-axis time-lapse or motion control video and add production value to your films by syncing the two together. *Note the Sync cable for connecting Genie Genie mini sold separately and can be found in the accessories section.

Mount Type: Camera/Ballhead: 1/4″ Screw for mounting cameras/ballheads | Base: 3/8″ thread for attaching to sliders, tripods and other systems (1/4″ to 3/8″ adaptor also included) It wasn’t until my Central America trip in 2014 that I tried again, this time with better results. I did have three months to practice, and much like with any photography technique, the more you do it, the better you get at it. Battery: Timelapse Mode: 24 hrs | Video Mode: 5 hrs | Charge time: 3hrs (Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery) In terms of use cases, Syrp notes that the Genie Micro can be used to capture holy grail time lapse videos. You can easily adjust ramp exposure settings on your camera as conditions change without the risk of jostling or moving your camera. You can also control multiple cameras by using more than one Genie Micro. Amid a pandemic, it may also be useful to remotely control a camera for portraits or video, allowing you to maintain a safe distance from others. Not only that, but they’re designed smartly, offering an abundant array of nice features from things like effortlessly interchangeable batteries, to a built-in keyframe setup for the Genie Pan Tilt that you can dive right into immediately without the mobile app. Next, get your one (or two) tripod(s) set up, with the legs placed stably; spread them out at a safer angle if necessary. (Especially if there is any wind!) Then, you’re pretty much ready to go! Of course, if you’re ready for something really advanced, the multi-axis keyframing is pretty easy to set up, too, or, you can also adjust the “ease in/out” settings, (ramping) in case you want any of the Genie’s 3 motions to start or stop very gradually. Step 5) Hit Record!

The ease in, ease out feature allows you to ramp your movement at the beginning and end of your time-lapse or video move. Once set, the movement will slowly rise up to your desired speed at the start of your shot and gradually dampen down at the end before coming to a complete stop. The Genie Mini is designed to be incredibly simple and is beginner time-lapse friendly. The Syrp App is equipped with factory pre-sets so you can start shooting straight out of the box with no technical expertise required. Just connect and shoot! The linear motion (from left to right) took a lot longer to set up, but I instantly loved the results. I just love the smooth motion and it’s exactly what I was looking. When the Genie and Genie Mini are connected via the Sync cable, the "panning icon" and "linear icon" will appear at the top of the Genie screen.
