About this deal

The rotary roller is not only easy to build but it is also pretty easy to install and configure (virtually no assembly required). Plugin and go. Sliding adjustment of the shaft spacing: SCULPFUN roller adjusts the size of the space between the two shafts by sliding, and fixes the shaft by turning the knob by hand, which is simpler and faster than the traditional multi-stage fixing hole adjustment.

You can also expand the work surface of this machine with the Sculfpun Expansion kit, which expands the working area more than two times. We have tested the expansion kit HERE. To clarify the whole thing a little better, here is an example. With the Comgrow Rotary, I can choose between the following settings. The initial situation is as follows: My laser normally has 80 steps per mm in the y-axis; with the roller it is 65 steps per mm and 16 mm diameter of the rollers.

Specification

Adjust the position of the rotary axis so that your cylinder will be parallel to the Y-axis and perpendicular to the X-Axis. Step 3: Install, Connect to and Configure LaserGRBL Step 2B is meant for machines that use two stepper motors for their Y-axis, such as the 3020 Pro Max, LC-60A, and 4030 PROVerXL.

Place the rotary axis in an appropriate position on the table, and connect the machine X-axis motor cable to the rotary axis stepper motor. A: The resolution of the lines should be chosen according to the laser spot. Usually for modules up to 10W 0.08 mm or 318 DPI (Lines per Inch), for modules from 20W rather 0.1 mm or 254 DPI. But here you can still play, if lines are visible in the motif, you can reduce the line interval or increase the DPI. Move the tensioning wheel assembly to make the synchronizing wheel under tension, and tighten the fixing bolts. If you don’t want to change the steps per mm every time, you can use the LightBurn wizard. LightBurn then takes over the conversion of the lengths from the motif into the movements of the rotation roller. For this, LightBurn needs two parameters: “mm per rotation” and “Roller Diameter” (A in the following picture). These two values are explained quite simply, but the function is sometimes a bit complicated.Engraving Table Height】 This aluminum rotary laser engraver has a height of 2.36”. Please ensure the space between your machine’s laser head and engraving table can accommodate this added height. Adjustable axes distance up to 3.39” to process a wide range of cylinder diameters. Place the engraving material between the two rollers and confirm whether they are far enough apart to support your cylinder without lifting it up too high. Generally, the lower the cylinder sits, the better.

Adjustment of shaft spacing: The shaft spacing can be adjusted steplessly by sliding, and it can be fixed by hand-tightening screws. Perfectly matched with engraving machine to engrave round objects】The One-piece rubber laser engraver rotary, hardness up to 70A, stronger friction, allowing you to perform 360-degree engravings on round or cylindrical objects such as cups, pens, bottles, pipes, bowls, drums and tubes and over-length plate engraving or cutting. Test fire your laser at a low power, 5% or less, and make sure that your laser is focused to a tiny point. Place the rotary axis in an appropriate position on the table, and connect the machine Y-axis motor cable to the rotary axis stepper motor. Adjust the position of the rotary axis so that your cylinder will be parallel to the X-axis and perpendicular to the Y-Axis. Step 2B: Installation Guide for if your Machine has Two Y-axis stepper motors

Highlights

Lightburn supports more formats: AI, SVG, DXF, PDF, HPGL, PLT, and RD for vector formats and PNG, JPEG, BMP, TIFF, TGA, and GIF for image formats. I change the steps in the firmware to 65. Then I don’t have to use the wizard. If I still want to use it, I have to enter 50.26mm per revolution there (16 * Pi). For the mathematicians among you, the value in the first case can also be derived mathematically: 40.8 = 65/80 × 50.26. That is, the ratio of steps per millimeter multiplied by the true circumference of the roll. Sculpfun Rotary Final note: this is not meant to push anyone into donating. As I said, the wiki will be free to use and stay free as long as I can afford this passion.
