Easy swap, probably took me a half-hour (though I did use to install showers long ago) - main point is that it's a direct replacement, you will need to drill new mounting holes, but pipe and cable entries the same. The recommended replacement shower has larger dimensions allowing for marks/holes left by previous shower to be concealed. We have also taken into consideration the distance between the hot and cold-water inlet pipes. Unless you are replacing with the exact same model, several factors will need to be considered: I’ve been using previous model for many years and the temp control started playing up. Decided to still using Triton brand which is now this model AS2000SR. To replace it took me about 90mins. I was following Triton’s instructions and video. It was quite simple and straight forward. Due to be a bit different shape new holes had to be drilled - I recommend to use Bosch Expert drill to make new holes in tiles. If I have any cons it would be to say that the drilling holes are not the same, it's not a complete retrofit and the unit is slightly larger overall than its predecessor so unless you have sufficient clearance from any adjacent walls it may cause a problem but other than that, as a professional kitchen and bathroom installer this is the best thermostatic shower I have ever instaled, and I get to prove it's worth every day! I agree that it doesn't seem as powerful as the old XT version but that may be an illusion as it's near silent.
