About this deal

Garage floor coverings, offered in floor mats or tiles, are removable protective solutions that shield your existing floor from scuff marks and oil stains. Although garage floor coverings are more convenient and forgiving than coatings, they don’t offer the same level of durability. To achieve an anti-slip surface, you should add the quartz aggregate after you’ve mixed the two components of the epoxy together. You should then mix for a further minute. You will want to continue to mix during installation to ensure even distribution of the anti-slip aggregate. We’ve put together the following instructions and safety notes for installing our garage floor kits. First, garage floor paint helps keep dust to a minimum: concrete floors generate a lot of particles that float around in the air, particularly if your garage is draughty. Garage floor paint helps seal dust in, which is especially useful if you’re spray-painting or doing jobs that require a clean environment. For accurate resin floor costs in your area, we recommend speaking to your local flooring specialists.

Can be self-fit with minimal DIY experience, simply loose-lay our garage flooring over your current floor or tired paint. Epoxy paints are far more hard-wearing but are significantly more expensive, and require the mixing of the epoxy resin paint and a catalyst in the correct quantities. Epoxy paints require a little more care to apply, but the end result will be much tougher and more durable than solvent-based alternatives. That means they’re more resistant to wear, and you’re less likely to chip the paint if you drop a heavy tool on the floor. Do I need a garage floor paint primer? If the floor is clean with no contamination or damp then there is no need for a specific primer. The standard epoxy floor coating can be used as the priming coat as these thinner products will penetrate the concrete, followed by the Epoxy floor coating HB to achieve a durable, high gloss finish. Mix Part A on its own with a mixing paddle attached to an electric drill for about 1 minute before adding ALL of Part B and continue to mix for another 90 seconds, keeping the paddle in suspension to avoid mixing air into the unit. Use a paint roller to spread the priming coat on the floor as you would when painting. Make sure that the applied strips do not overlap. Once the primer has been applied, wait for a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 48 hours. This is how long the primer needs to dry.

What’s the problem?

The coating is also useful for long-term protection of the floor. This protection can include various chemicals, oils, liquids, road salt and petrol. As a result, you benefit for a long time from an attractive and easy-care surface for your vehicle. All Garage Floors provide this great tip: “Before mixing your epoxy, use a strip of painters tape or duct tape and run the roller over it to remove any lint that may be present. You don’t want this showing up in your floor.”

Old paint finishes should be removed if flaking at all and the surface should be sanded to create a texture (also known as a mechanical key) prior to applying Resincoat Double Garage Floor Paint Bundle. When preparing for a floor coat, doing so mechanically (shot-blasting or grinding) is always advisable for best results, but if that is not possible then sanding the area or our Etch and Clean is a good alternative. After the surface has been completely abraded, thoroughly sweep and vacuum the area of any remaining dust or contaminants. For more information on preparation, please see technical data sheet.Garage floor epoxy coatings use a chemical reaction that bonds to the concrete and hardens to form a long-lasting and protective finish. We will now take a look at epoxy garage flooring in a bit more detail, answering some of the questions about what it looks like, how hard it is to install and how long it lasts.

For greasy floors with heavy oil residue clean thoroughly using a suitable degreaser scraping off any dust or dirt and then prime with Resincoat Oil Tolerant Primer Application Especially in hot summer, priming the garage floor can be difficult: Warm air naturally contains more moisture than cold air. The garage floor is about 15° C cooler, which in turn can cause condensation. The problem with this is that when the primer dries, the condensation water sometimes causes unsightly stains. To ensure that everything runs smoothly, a temperature of 16 to 23° C is recommended. Caution: The floor should have a temperature of at least 10° C so that the work can be carried out cleanly. Important: The floor must dry out completely after all cleaning work! An airtight plastic foil indicates condensation water if necessary. Freshly laid concrete floor needs at least 5 weeks to dry. Coating can then begin. Our fast cure epoxy garage floor paint is perfect for time-critical jobs, meaning minimal downtime and less disruption.
