About this deal

A short cable runs along the left side of the Elite Battery Strap which plugs into the side of Quest 2 to feed it power. The underside of the battery portion has its own USB-C charging port, allowing you to plug in your Quest 2 to charge both the extra battery and the headset at the same time.

There are multiple threads going on around here. I want to see how many users with the Meta Elite Strap with Battery are actually having no issues and who's having issues.

If you're unconcerned with battery life, you can choose the basic Elite Strap (or any of the excellent, cheaper third-party options). But the Battery gives it a natural balance, whereas the rest would make you attach an unwieldy power bank to your head or else accept seeing low power warnings after an hour or two. It seems there are a large number of users with faulty units (or there is a headset update pending I'm not aware of that fixes this). Who here has it working perfectly fine and what is the behavior you experience? The Quest 3 Elite Strap with battery is an optional accessory for Quest 3 that combines a rigid and more comfortable head strap with a rear-mounted battery to extend the amount of time you can use your device before you have to stop and recharge. It aims to solve two of the most significant issues with the Quest 3: Comfort and battery life. Attach the Elite strap with battery side arms to the arms of the headset. You should feel and hear a snap, indicating that the arms are attached.

The Elite Strap with battery has a capacity of 17.9Wh, so you don’t quite double the battery capacity of your device by using it with the Elite Strap with Battery. Based on how I’ve been using my Quest 3 since launch, I am getting between 3.5 to 4 hours of usage when using the Quest 3 Elite Strap with Battery. The Quest 3 comes with a 19.44Wh battery inside, which is sufficient for about 2 hours of gameplay, but I’ve always found this to be too short, and it does impact my enjoyment when I know my time with the headset is limited. In terms of the Elite Strap itself, we've rounded up several 3rd-party Elite Strap alternatives that are more affordable and oftentimes more comfortable than the official model. Silicone gasket is actually pretty nice and you can wipe it off easily for different users. I’ll need to try it longer, but I might just leave this one on.I think the fov is to the point where I don’t mind it. With quest 2 I’d always think about how I wish it was bigger. This isn’t a major issue by any means, but it just doesn’t look great on what is a premium first-party accessory. I have tried various options to manage the cable, but I haven’t found a solution that I’m completely happy with yet. The increase in battery life provided by the Elite Battery Strap with Battery feels about right. I’m usually ready for a break after four hours of using my headset, and I think the tradeoff between adding additional weight for a bigger battery, and impact on the battery life is pretty good. The Oculus Quest 2 Elite Strap and Elite Battery Strap accessories feel very well built and come highly recommended thanks to their intuitively fitting design and improvements to comfort over the default soft strap. The Elite Battery Strap has a slight edge on comfort thanks to the additional counterweight from the battery, but unfortunately it can only be bought bundled together with the Quest 2 case.
