About this deal

The great measure of control afforded by this gestalt mind gives the pilot mastery over the construct's psychically-powered weapon systems and affords the war machine an acrobatic grace that belies its massive size. In 9th you don’t need to cast powers to generate value in the psychic phase – you can perform Paranormal Activities Psychic Actions instead! Even better, a near-indestructible hell construct is an extremely good characteristic for an Action-caster to have, as it means you can try for riskier ones like Psychic Ritual without worrying about getting blown off the board. Couple that with the fact that you can still otherwise act normally while using your psychic phase for this, and you have a very, very valuable model indeed – so good in fact that he’s an active draw to taking a patrol rather than just slotting in the Yncarne in an Auxiliary. His existence also means you’ll likely see the odd unit of Ynnari Rangers out and about, solely as the least objectionable troop choice you can slap into a detachment with him and the Yncarne. Craftworld Bike Characters If that type of roll involves one D6 (e.g. a hit roll), do not roll a dice; that roll is treated as an unmodified roll of 6. Each carries either a pair of heavy Wraithcannons, their lengthy forms capable of sending their targets straight into the hell-dimension of the Warp; a Suncannon, powerful enough to obliterate a platoon of Human soldiers in a single blast of roiling fusion-generated plasma; or a great Ghostglaive and Scattershield with which to engage even the Daemon Lords of Chaos in single combat.

This newly imbued Spirit Stone can then be bonded with the wraithbone of a large robotic construct. The merging of an Aeldari soul and machine results in the birth of a powerful Ghost Warrior.Wyches are also a great tag-team with Banshees as Banshees can shut down Overwatch and the Wyches can get in with their Shardnets and trap units in combat.

The first is that it finally sorts out one of the longest standing rules bugbears of 8th. One of the nasty things you could theoretically do with the Yncarne on inital release was, when your opponent killed a unit in their turn, redeploy the Yncarne to their position and then heroic into them. With its large base, meeting the criteria of “as close as possible” to the destroyed model gives you several inches of wiggle room to play with, letting you catch opponents off guard, butcher their units in their turn, and then move to safety on yours. When the call to war is heard, these beings are awakened by the most gifted Seers. Their Spirit Stones glow hot as the slow-burning anger of the dead flows through their cores. Once kindled, the wrath that animates their wraithbone bodies becomes an unstoppable fury that can only be quenched in the blood of their foe. Whether they’re fighting as the vanguard of a Tyranid swarm or as the killer elite of a cult uprising, Genestealers are swift as a blur and utterly deadly. Now that they’re only 13 points per model – or 15 for the Purestrain variety – we’re sure the maximum unit size of 20 Genestealers is looking all the more tempting. Tradition has it that each craftworld keeps these vengeful constructs apart from other Ghost Warriors so that the immortal anger that pervades their wraithbone shells does not taint those who might one day attain peace within the Infinity Circuit. Ghost Warriors were introduced in the 1st Edition of Warhammer 40,000 where both they and their large counterparts known as "Spirit Warriors" served as alternates to Eldar Dreadnoughts. "Ghost Warriors" were originally conceived as being a mechanical robotic walker created by the Eldar to carry out infiltration, assassination and sabotage missions for their military forces. The over-sized weapons of the Wraithguard allow each of them to focus a portion of their psychic power upon a fixed target. The arcane beams of these weapons open a localised rift between Warpspace and the material universe for a fraction of a second. The bone is the next most important cover, particularly since it covers the face. This was pretty much just blending from VMC Cork Brown to VMC Ivory for some nice shadowing on the lower parts of the facemask and near white as you get to the forehead and brow. I used the same colors for the runework on the front. Leather The axe and shield seems such a no brainer, am I missing something??? Not only is the 4++ a massive thing in these latest editions of leafblower 40k, it's a cheaper build!?!?!? I keep expecting that too change. (Maybe it has and I missed it? Among the oldest and most powerful Vehicles of both Adeptus Astartes and Heretic Astartes alike, the Land Raider is a true Warhammer 40,000 icon. Yet the high points costs of these indomitable tanks have often seen their number limited on the tabletop – and their loss in battle keenly felt.

When the Ghost Warriors enter a war zone as a single force, they are a dreaded sight for any commander. Their sophisticated weaponry is beyond the comprehension of a common Human soldier. Able to rip holes in dimensions, the Ghost Warriors will simply disappear whole platoons. Howling Banshees? I don’t think you listed a single thing that wasn’t already available to them via normal Eldar. Wyches at least gain something new out of psychic support (as well as an Archon’s ability to buff both their shooting and melee ability). However, I’m still not convinced that going Ynnari is worth it. Yes, you get some psychic support but the cost is sacrificing all your army-wide abilities – including ones that could help vehicles and other ranged units. Constructs made from the psycho-reactive material known as Wraithbone, Wraithguard are host to the spirit of a dead Aeldari Warrior whose spirit stone has been implanted into the shell so that they may once again protect their race. A practice that is repulsive to the living Aeldari, the act of disinterring the honoured dead from their rest is nonetheless more necessary as the years pass and more Aeldari pass into the twilight of the Spirit Stones. Yvraine saw a modest amount of use in 8th edition (including by me) as a pure value piece – her ability to throw out both a +cast smite and a Gaze of Ynnead every turn was basically always fine at her cost, and especially in Craftworlds helped you reach a critical mass of mortal wounds to really threaten anything that came to tangle in your lines.

Abilities

Bringing “a melee contingent” is something most lists want to do, and that’s the thing they’re least horrible at. However, all of that stuff is only part of the reason Wraithblades are coming into vogue now- and the other half has nothing at all to do with the Craftworlds codex or any of the changes that were made. No, the real reason we’re seeing Wraithblades take the fore is because of the surge in popularity of Orks. Eldar as a whole don’t have a ton of great solutions to Orks; they certainly have weapons that can kill them, but those weapons are usually pretty short-ranged and thus all but guarantee the unit employing them will die next turn. This isn’t universally true, of course- Windriders and Swooping Hawks can both do the job pretty well themselves without being completely suicidal- but even the units able to do it at range tend to fall easy prey to Ork return fire. Wraithblades, however, will absolutely murder Orks in close combat but are still very resilient against both shooting and melee- especially if they are sitting at 2+ or 1+ armor. With even just a single offensive buff a unit of Wraithblades can blast a whole squad of Boyz off the table in a single go and still be ready to kill another one the following round if they don’t stop you. Farseer [6 PL, 120pts]: 0. Smite, 3. Fortune, Shuriken Pistol, Singing Spear, Warlord . Faolchu's Wing Their contoured shells house the spirits of the wakeful dead in much the same way as lesser Ghost Warriors, though their armoured chests each hold a living Craftworld Aeldari pilot within. These pilots are not normal steersmen such as those at the helm of Asuryani grav-tanks and aircraft, but rare and unusual warriors who were each born a twin.
