About this deal

Boon: It’s very good. Probably the biggest struggle Craftworlds will have in this extremely deadly meta is simply staying on the board – the Wave Serpent provides a huge boost there in terms of durability. The question a lot of players will need to ask themselves is how much they are willing to pay for this durability and what tradeoffs will they make. It’s not an easy answer given the relatively low output for the price. The predominant type of Ghost Warrior in use among the craftworlds is the Wraithguard. These giant robotic warriors are shaped from the immensely resilient substance known as wraithbone, and tower above the Spiritseers that accompany them upon the battlefield. The Aeldari Wraithlords stand significantly taller than a man, carry an array of weaponry and are a terrifying sight on the battlefield. Wraithlords have incredible strength even when bare-handed, but also sometimes carry a gigantic Wraithsword for close-combat. Two Eldar-specific points here. YNNARI is now essentially a selection, and indeed all the Named Characters from the Reborn have the Asuryani keyword, so your starting point for a list with them is as a special flavour of Craftworlds (though there’s some depths we’ll look at in their article).

The Aeldari are an ancient and once-proud race whose hubris caused their demise. As their civilisation reached new heights of technology and culture, and they came to dominate the galaxy around them, they began to seek stranger and darker pleasures.Wraithknights are often deployed on Crone Worlds at the forefront of quests for new Spirit Stones, which often involve dangerous encounters with Daemons and other nightmarish denizens. However as the End Times approach for the Eldar and their race dies faster then it can give birth, fewer and fewer twins are born upon each Craftworld. Many Wraithknight pilots are recruited from Revenant Titan helmsmen who have lost their twin in battle and driven to regain their kinship whatever the cost, give themselves over to the life of a Wraithknight pilot. Even more unsettling is that it is rumored that some Craftworld councils have removed the option of choice for such individuals. [1] Skathach Wraithknight

These large constructs are extremely precious to their Aeldari craftworlds and have a supernatural toughness due to being made from the psychically-active substance called wraithbone.A Wraithseer is a unique and rare type of Eldar Ghost Warrior, a Wraithbone construct empowered by the soul of a deceased Eldar contained within a Spirit Stone. [1] Overview This newly imbued Spirit Stone can then be bonded with the wraithbone of a large robotic construct. The merging of an Aeldari soul and machine results in the birth of a powerful Ghost Warrior. The clarity of thought provided by the living twin ensures that the construct moves with the speed typical of the Aeldari race, whilst the psychic link between the pilot and their departed sibling allows them to commune with not only the animating forces of the twin, but also the spirits of former incumbents that once controlled the construct's long-limbed form. My personal rule of thumb is to never go more than 1 base size smaller or larger than the currently supplied base. And generally I would never go smaller unless the model, or a previous iteration of the model, was supplied with a smaller base to begin with, nor would I go any larger unless there is a specific scenic reason for it, such as a Character or unique centerpiece. Surprise Assault for Warp Spiders gives them an extra shot per gun the turn they come in from deep strike, which helps maximise the chance of them landing the kind of blow their hefty price tag demands.

Aeldari warriors emulate the various warlike aspects of Khaela Mensha Khaine in battle, but each Craftworld holds a terrible secret in its heart. There is a chamber which contains an Avatar of Khaine, a molten metal statue which contains a still-living shard of the defeated warrior god. In times of war, this shard is awakened and set aflame. This colossus of battle bestrides the battlefield, a living god that scythes down its foes by the score. Wraithlord In the earlier versions of Warhammer 40,000, the Wraithlord was simply a Dreadnought as fielded by any other of the fictional races of the game. The Spiritseer was the then-equivalent of the Wraithlord but retained the ability to use psychic powers in play. Craftworld Iyanden - A Codex: Eldar Supplement (6th Edition) (Digital Edition), pp. 8-9, 16-17, 25, 32, 46, 49-55 Making good Battalions has always been a challenge for the Asuryani, and this book is no different. Guardians and Storm Guardians both go up to 4+ saves, get AP on their weapons, and conditional re-roll 1s to hit (Defenders if they’re holding an objective, Storm Guardians if their target is), and that’s all neat, but a starting price tag of 90pts for ten Defenders, going up by at least 20 if you bring a platform, makes them pretty pricey for what you’re likely to get out of them. Storm Guardians are slightly cheaper, and bringing their fancy new Serpentscale Shield gives them some good anti-shooting defences, but that’s also 20pts meaning a squad jumps to 100. It feels like filling out armies with these is going to need you to take a Webway Gate, and at least there being able to reliably dump ten Storm Guardians onto an objective on turns two and three might be worthwhile, but it feels like in both cases the platforms could maybe have borne starting at a lower price. The Ghost Warriors are among the most powerful forces that the Asuryani send into battle. Each one combines a towering robotic wraith-construct with the soul of a deceased Aeldari warrior. Guided by a Spiritseer, and armed with some of the most devastating weaponry in the craftworlds' arsenal, a host of Ghost Warriors strides across the worlds of the galaxy bringing immortal vengeance.

Silks’ Method

Each carries either a pair of heavy Wraithcannons, their lengthy forms capable of sending their targets straight into the hell-dimension of the Warp; a Suncannon, powerful enough to obliterate a platoon of Human soldiers in a single blast of roiling fusion-generated plasma; or a great Ghostglaive and Scattershield with which to engage even the Daemon Lords of Chaos in single combat. As a means of calming their tempestuous emotions and keeping their ancient enemy at bay, most Aeldari devote themselves to specialised Paths, on which they hone one skill, sometimes to the point of obsession. Aspect Warriors are the Aeldari who walk the martial paths. Each Aspect Shrine is built around the teachings of a Phoenix Lord, legendary figures inspired by the various ways the Aeldari god of War, Khaela Mensa Khaine, engaged in battle. I long to examine a wraith-construct with the Spirit Stone still intact. Alas, I have studied only fragments of an empty shell and nothing more. It is lifeless and full of mystery. I very much doubt we can understand such dangerous technology with our conventional understanding. In the wrong hands, one can only imagine the danger it presents to Mankind."

They deploy a combination of powerful psykers who read the skeins of fate to predict the outcome of combat, soldiers who have walked martial paths that grant them skills beyond human ken, hardy walking constructs piloted by the souls of long-dead warriors, and lightning-fast anti-gravity bikes and tanks. Wraithguards, supported by a Wraithknight of the Saim-Hann craftworld, take the battle to the Orks. The Avatar struggles in Tau meta, but might have some play in a Webway Gate list, or if Tau take a hit. Lore for the Asuryani, covering the fall of the Eldar, the Craftworlds and their notable champions. The name Skathach is possibly a reference to Scáthach, a legendary Scottish warrior-woman who trained the hero Cú Chulainn. I’d consider having some fun and getting some more of the specialist units like Fire Dragons, Swooping Hawks or Dire Avengers. But really, you need to probably lean into the speed of this list. Perhaps drop the Wraithlord and think about more bikes or things like Swooping Hawks etc.
