FiiO launched the K5Pro ( AKMversion) 3 years ago, in August 2019, and at the time it was in high demand. Being an all-in-one and relatively compact device, it was highly appreciated by audiophiles. This year, FiiO updated the K5Pro ( ESSversion) and released it with a new DAC and a new MCU. You can access our review via this link. We liked the K5Pro, but I personally expected a more major update over the old K5Pro, in terms of both design and features. FiiO has done just that with the K7, and the fact that they didn’t introduce a price increase is quite impressive! In light of all this, I think it’s not hard to foresee that the K7 will have an important place in FiiO’s desktop line-up. Measuring 12 x 16.8 x 5.5 centimetres, we can say that the K7 is “compact” for an all-in-one device. Let’s take a closer look at what FiiO has changed and improved with the K7. The SMSL C200 is an ultra compact device, measuring just 139x32x147.5mm, so it will fit virtually everywhere. We listened to more songs than those named in this playlist, but those are excellent for identifying a sonic signature. Without a doubt, the Sundara is a great match for the C200. The sound is so organic and engaging yet highly resolving and scoring strong on technicalities. It really feels like a complete system. There’s no flabbiness in the bass and the scale of dynamics is nothing short of grand. It gets the job done but I have to admit I was initially befuddled when “L O” and “H O” were not gain settings but were Line Out vs Headphone Out, oops read the manual.They are also part of the World Wide Hearing organization so a portion of every headphone sale goes toward helping a child hear. Without any moving parts at all, the C100 is a solid unit that can sit comfortably anywhere. Removing extras from its bigger brother, the missing volume knob and balanced outputs have led to the insignificant footprint of the C100. Non l ho collegato al pc ma per l uso che ne faccio io posso dire che è un apparecchio davvero azzeccato che mi permette il controllo del volume senza perdere di dinamica anche a basso ascolto e taratura personalizzate per l ambiente e le eventuali elettroniche associate. Ho tutti i controlli in flat e non manca proprio niente.
