About this deal

Regarding seasons & climate, the fabric is with a very high waterproof rating, and the tent is fully closable yet nicely ventilated. So it will perform great in any environment and I see it very suitable for a 3-season-plus camping. The Hi Gear tent range are winners of the Best Family Tent 2020 award from the Camping and Caravan Club. There are currently no images uploaded by members for this Tent. There are however some methods that you can use to determine a product’s quality without needing to physically have it. Price – as you’d expect the price of a product can be an instantly recognisable factor on what sort of quality you can expect. Whoever came up with the phrase “you get what you pay for” pretty much hit the nail on the head. Whilst it’s not always the case and there are many bargains to be had, you can as a general rule, expect the higher priced products to offer better quality than a the cheapest option. We’ll dive into the price of Hi-Gear Horizon 700 Air Nightfall Tent in more detail in a moment. Pitching time is quoted as 25 minutes, but we recon after you’ve got to grips with it you will have this tent inflated and pegged out faster. NOTE – The first time you pitch it you will need to install the bedroom, so allow for this at your first camp. After that, you can just leave it in place like with other tents. To give that price some context we then looked at all of the products available from Go Outdoors in the Weekend Tents category. We found 16 items in total. What’s the price of Weekend Tents? We’re really pleased to have scored Hi-Gear Horizon 700 Air Nightfall Tent so highly, givimg it 8.3 out of 10, making it well above the average for all Weekend Tents. The nightfall bedrooms are of a good size and have plenty of vents you can open or close the are easy to fit we left them in and connected when we put the tent away remembering to leave all the doors open to let the air out . You have two external doors, one is on the side, visible in the picture above, and as you see it has a small awning so this is a dry entry point. The door is double-layer with mesh for ventilation and a solid panel. The second (main) door is under the porch, it is incredibly wide and fully protected so this is yet another dry entry, and it is also equipped with a mesh. Materials The inflating points are covered by zipped panels, making the outside of the tent look very neat. They also protect the valves from exposure to sun and rain. Premium Oxford 5000HH Flysheet – Resilient embossed Oxford fly with a more than adequate Hydrostatic Head.

So the total floored area is 260.5 ft² (24.2 m²), and this means 37.2 ft² (3.45 m²) per person. There are no many tents that can match this. But there is also its large porch that adds 114 ft² (10.6 m²), you have already seen that it is fully protected so whatever you put there will be safe from the rain. The single bag it comes in included the manual air pump all pegs as I've already said its big and the bag fills the boot of my ford Kuga. If you have used this product please leave a review, or your comments for other visitors, many thanks! There is also a repair kit with a spare Airgo Tube for peace of mind whilst away on holiday. Because of all this, I have included it in my list of best inflatable tents. The front porch area is provided with a separate groundsheet. This is handy as it gives you the option of whether you want it in place or not. Some like to feel the cool grass under their feet whilst in a sheltered area, and many campers also like to have no ground covering in areas where they are cooking/preparing food.Designed to sleep 4 persons in a 2x2 configuration, the centre divider unzips to make one large sleeping area, one of the first things you will notice is the big crescent moon logo depicting that HiGear Horizon has NightFall bedrooms.

Nightfall Bedrooms - With integrated curtains keep the dark out or let the light in as it doesn’t always need to be dark. But they have added dedicated vents for extra air cross flow. So you have 4 low vents (one shown below), two in the living room and two in the sleeping area. One of the low vents. This is a big tent, but one person can easily set it up in 20-30 minutes or so. The official pitching time is 30 minutes. The picture below shows how you can open the front angled wall of the porch. From the pictures you also realize that this is a very tall construction and you have a stand-up height in the biggest part of it. View with the porch open. There’s plenty of ventilation panels around the tent, and a large zipped one that runs along the rear of the bedroom which is great for keeping that area cool. We had rain and sun, and didn’t experience any problems with condensation building up inside the tent.

The bedrooms and the living area has a sewn in groundsheet and the tent comes with a front area ground sheet which you can use or not. Another factor that can be a great indication of product quality is the brand. Brands like Hi-Gear are of course extremely well known, especially for Weekend Tents. The flysheet on this tent lets in plenty of light, making this a very nice and airy feeling living space. The side door is a nice large size, giving easy access and letting in plenty of fresh air. It is fitted with a mesh panel for keeping the creepy crawlies on the outside. It’s got a decent rain canopy too should the good old British weather decide to do what it does best. Note that the living room has 146 ft² (13.6 m²), and it is fully sealed so it can easily accommodate 7 people more. All in all, this is a camping castle, and it can accommodate far more users that what its official capacity suggests. From our experience, darkened bedrooms are always cooler, meaning you should be more comfortable on hotter nights. The centre divider can be removed to create a single large bedroom and if you are worried about feeling closed in a claustrophobic, there are large mesh covered zipped panels front and rear that can be opened up to let both light and fresh air in – the best of both worlds. The HiGear Horizon 400 has a fitted floor in the living area and it comes provided with a separate ground sheet for front porch area. This leaves you with the option of whether you choose to fit it or not. They do not provide information about the floor, but it is bathtub style and most likely polyethylene. It is fully sewn in and sealed. Note that the inner tent has yet another floor, so you have two layers of floors in the sleeping area.
