Minelab should renew the product line, get their customers interested, and, this way, make them share their money. The Equinox 900 has an expanded discrimination range of 119 target Id’s (-19 to 99). You can select all metals and hear everything or accurately customise to find only the targets you want to find. The discrimination range is the highest in any Equinox machine to date and allows for a very high degree of customisation and accuracy. Increased Sensitivity Levels Whether or you like the Equinox or not, it has been the most popular metal detector ever sold. It will be interesting to see if their Equinox sales will continue with the 700 and 900 or will this turn out to be a big marketing mistake on behalf of Minelab for announcing something new on the heels of getting the Manticore to its customers. The market launch of the new Equinox version is expected in the first half of 2023. The 900 is built and designed, both physically and digitally similar to the 800. The menus and buttons are all familiar and there is no new detecting jargon to try to digest and understand. In that way, anyone who has used either an 800 or the 600 will really hit the ground running with the new machine. If you’re wondering if the 900 is better than the 800 then the answer is yes. Of course, it is, but not by a huge amount! For many, the Equinox 700 will be more than enough. The Equinox 900 allows for a little more fine control over settings and has a handy user profile into which you can save your settings. Although really that should also be on the 700 as it is something that is becoming pretty standard these days even on machines at the budget end of the market.
