Switch is the newest platform and offers local wireless co-op or Internet co-op with other Switch friends. Switch has no other option for cross play with other platforms. There are some technical hiccups that unbalance this serene setting on occasion, but none that are severe enough to really hamper your progress. Performance on PC (which in this case featured a RTX 2080Ti and 6th generation Core i7) can inexplicably plummet when you're surrounded by numerous oxygen tethers, and I had two separate instances where I clipped through the ground and was forced to reload a previous save. Astroneer is generous with when it saves, though, so progress loss is infrequent.

Thankfully, that’s the case. Players on these platforms can effortlessly join forces and explore the wonders of astroneer together, without facing any major barriers. Unfortunately, Astroneer is not cross-platform between PS4 and Xbox. There is no cross-play support for PlayStation players at the moment. Crossplay, also known as cross-platform, is the ability to play with other players who are using different platforms. For example, someone playing on a PC can play with someone using a console, such as a PS5, or a PS4 player can play with an Xbox One player. So if you are playing with a PlayStation 4, sorry to say, but you cannot play Astroneer with those using different gaming platforms. The machines look nice and there are some good ideas, like the trading system, that will allow you to buy resources without having to travel somewhere, just because you are missing one certain resource.

Currently, astroneer doesn’t support cross-platform play for the Switch. Do I always need a server for cross-play in Astroneer? However, there’s a workaround: both Xbox One and PS4/PS5 players can link through self-hosted servers. Still, there are some constraints. Our dedicated gaming servers come in two flavours – Game-1 and Game-2. Each option has different processors and storage configurations. We recommend Game-1 for multiplayer sessions with friends and Game-2 for larger gatherings, such as eSports competitions. Players using their PS4 to play Astroneer cannot play a multiplayer game with those playing on their Xbox.The Bubble Suit, also known as Bubbles, is a chubby suit with a big, round visor that gives it the name Bubbles. The Radiated Suit is one long body with a connected head and a narrow visor, similar to suits from the CDA in Monsters, Inc. By using servers from platforms like Gportal, players can ensure a consistent and smooth gameplay experience.
