About this deal

The caramel keeps the lavender from being too fresh, giving it a semi sweet edge. It doesn't mean it's a bad odor; it's actually a little bit sexy and natural smelling. She's sweet, she's aromatic, she's relaxing, she layers beyoootifully with Zara Fields of Nightfall aka Zadig & Voltaire This is Her.

I always found that the sweet opening would be more prominent on textile vs on my skin. With my skin chemistry, it also pulls more masculine. Now you're going home, you realize his cologne is still lingering on your clothes and is mixing with your sweet perfume. It's already making you nostalgic of this magical moment. On first spray, it’s all sweet lavender and salt. I’m not usually a fan of sweet lavender but this really does it for me. The caramel and marshmallow do make it sweet, but it’s not cloying. It reminds me of a dessert you’d get at a Michelin starred restaurant. Like a salted caramel and lavender s’more with tonal creme under a salt dome with sandalwood air upon removing the dome. The dry down is like a cozy hug. I had wanted to try ariana grande's perfumes for a very long time. However, since I live in a country with hot and humid weather, I stay away from gourmands as much as possible. Same goes for most AG perfumes, I fear that all of her perfumes smells great in air conditioned room but not outside of the mall. How nice that after 'Ari' and 'Moonlight' (my favourite fragrances) I like an Ariana Grande perfume again. But I knew that 'R.E.M.' had to move in with me just because of the gorgeous bottle. So I didn't care that many people compared the fragrance to 'Cloud', which I don't like at all... Anyway Imo its pretty and lovely; warm and sweet scent. It doesn't smell like celebrity scent...to me it smells like expensive components. This was a really nice one for me. I think if I was trying to get something new that I liked I would get this. It's one of those fragrances that you're not sure if your head over heels for or if you just like it.

I can imagine the fragrance very well as a cuddly scent or simply in the evening to relax, because of the lavender note. The scent stays with me very long on the skin, even until the next day is the clearly perceived. At me he smells after longer wear still sweet and quite spicy, especially the tonka bean comes out well. MM's Coffee Break is a smoother, unisex lavender perfume but it does have masculine undertones too. If you find that R.E.M is too masculine, you might have the same opinion on Coffee Break. To me, it even smells like it could fit a more mature young man? IMO, R.E.M could suit a boy in his late teens - early 20's whereas Coffee Break would best fit a young man getting close to 25 or even older. Coffee Break is still relaxed and youthful but it's definitely more mature too. R.E.M is sweeter and still has that "one of my very first perfumes" vibe. You're in your late teens or in your early twenties. You've just spent the entire day with your boyfriend, snuggling at his place, watching Netflix shows together. It's the weekend & the weather is a little bit chilly--- you were dressed in your coziest sweater.

Hello Ari Fragrance Fans!

REM is probably the biggest, most pleasant surprise I've had since getting into fragrance. I've smelled most of Ariana's perfumes while puttering around Ulta, but can't stand most of them. Cloud gives me dentist office vibes, God Is a Woman gives me a headache, and Mod Vanilla and Blush give... well nothing really because they disappear practically as soon as you spray them.

I really love this salty lavender perfume. It's a rather weird concept, but it's the first thing I can detect. The salt, which rounds off the lavender, and gives the quince that gourmand taste, like fruit with a little salt. I can also smell some coconut,(which is more like the milkiness of the fig), so I understand the comparison with the Cloud. But it has nothing to do with it. If for some reason I was told that I could only keep one perfume for the rest of my life, I would choose to keep R.E.M. I just finished up my 1.7 Oz bottle and I’m waiting for a sale at Ulta to buy my next bottle because I don’t think my collection is truly complete without this scent. In my opinion, R.E.M. is the best Ariana Grande perfume and it doesn’t smell like a conventional celebrity perfume.

Warnings

The projection is fair, longevity about 4 hours. But since I usually spray perfume when I freshen up myself mid day, so I don't find the sillage and lasting power as a problem. Nothing in this screams too much, yet this is wonderfully pleasing and calming to wear throughout the day even on the warmest day. Nevertheless 'R.E.M.' has something of its own, which the other Ariana Grande perfumes didn't have until now. For me it's warm and fresh at the same time (although you might think that's mutually exclusive).
