About this deal

Pearlessence offers a variety of skin care products, many of which are inspired by the higher end luxury products on the market. For example, their Coconut Water Hydrating Facial Mist offers some of the same key ingredients as more well known products like Herbivore’s Rose Hibiscus Spray or the Mario Badescu Facial Spray. While they are by no means identical, you can expect a similar effect overall.

This is quite carved and I actually painted over the whole thing. It was Florence underneath and then I painted with the flat of my brush, so just the top went on. So I think that’s amazing and I love the way the colour gets on it. I do find that if you do a second coat sometimes, that really, really brings it out. So the first coat probably absorbs a little, and second doesn’t. The Pearlescent Glaze looks white but is in fact translucent, meaning it is will change appearance according to the colour beneath it. For anyone else who’s interested, I went down a rabbit hole and found some other interesting info below based on your comment about “Jocott Brands, Inc”.In this tutorial, Annie Sloan will teach you everything you need to know to add an iridescent finish to your Chalk Paint™ project. Whether you’re working on a small decorative piece like a picture frame or something larger. As well as simply applying the glaze over your painted surface, you can learn how to mix Pearlescent Glaze with Chalk Paint™ to create your own unique opalescent colour. With its light-reflecting properties, this water-based glaze shimmers even when dry. Step by step guide to using Pearlescent Glaze OK, so this brand has baffled me for about three years now. I’ve been an aesthetician for 16 years, having work mostly in dermatology. I found the rosehip facial oil at TJ Maxx when I was pregnant. Always being one to read the ingredients to determine whether or not to buy, Especially when it’s an “over the counter“ product, I did like that this only had four ingredients. Even though fragrance is one of them, it’s listed as the last ingredient. (Ingredients are always listed from highest concentration to lowest.) I’m mixing now the Pearlescent Glaze with some colours. And this for me is one of the most exciting things. So I just want to show you these: so that is a colour that I’ve made by using Florence; this is one I’ve made using Antibes Green; and this one using Aubusson Blue. So how you do it is…I’m going to have lots of glaze there! And now the key is to have just a tiny, tiny bit of colour. So I’m just going to… a little tiny bit on there and then mix that in. You see what a huge difference that makes? You’ve got to be careful that you don’t put too much in otherwise you’re going to obliterate the translucency of it. And then I can just paint that on there. Isn’t that beautiful? One thing you might have noticed on here, particularly on here, is that the brush marks show. We’ve done that deliberately to show you the brush marks really, really show. Now if you don’t want it to do that, what you would do is apply it with a roller, so that’s what I’ve done there, so that has got stripes on it of the brush marks and that is done with a roller. And for smaller areas you might even do that so that’s a little stippling brush: I’ll put it on to there. You’d get some to there and then you can apply like that for sort of small areas. It also looks amazing on something like this. So I’m going to explain Pearlescent Glaze is. So this is it, it’s quite white looking but in fact it’s translucent and in a way it’s very much affected by the colours that are underneath it. So if I paint it on to here a white paint underneath it looks white. If I paint it here on to different colours; that looks pinky, that looks yellowy; that looks blue. The idea is that it enhances that colours that are underneath it. And it’s got this beautiful, beautiful glaze to it, which does catch the light.

Thank you for your comment and question. I’ve reached out to the leading paint manufacturers mentioned in the article to ask them if they can reply to your important question. Golden paints have responded with this: According to the International Journal of Phytopharmacy Research, the most important property of activated charcoal is its adsorbent potential. Thanks to this ability, activated charcoal adsorbs dust particles and opens clogged pores. It also helps retain moisture and nutrients in the skin. Rosehip Oil

Lightfastness and Toxicity of Iridescent Paints

In our opinion, Pearlessence Skincare products deliver value for money, but take a look at other brands that don’t require you to sacrifice your precious money.

I have been using a couple serums from the same Parent Company, I believe. The brand is ‘Clean Beauty’ which is distributed by Jocott Brands Inc. (I’m sure you’re fully aware of Google searching ‘clean beauty brand’ will come up with, basically every single brand that claims to be have clean skincare. Even Sephora has a ‘Clean Beauty’ section featuring all their lower synthetic products) If your paintwork is completely covered with Pearlescent Glaze, your piece will be ready to go out on display as soon as it’s dry. Add matt mediums to reduce sparkle, and increase appearance of sparkle by mixing with gloss mediums. You can also tint Pearlescent Glaze with Chalk Paint™. This will create a whole range of beautiful, shimmering pastels. Work with brighter, stronger Chalk Paint™ colours and only add the smallest amount of paint – the pigment particles in the paint will dull the shimmering effects of the Pearlescent Glaze, so be economical! Have fun with experimenting with different colours using an Annie Sloan MixMat.I could do that with a roller. I could do that with a Stencil Brush. I’ll do the other colours here too. You will see how they’re all affected. So a bit of glaze, a little bit of Antibes Green… Isn’t that beautiful? So what I’m really saying, too, is that every colour you do is going to be a lot lighter. It’s not going to have the strength of that, so you’ve got to judge what you’re going to get. Once the paint is dry, you’re ready to apply a coat of Pearlescent Glaze. Mix the glaze well before starting and apply with a Sponge Roller – this will help create a smooth finish. Aloe, Lavender, White Camphor, Mango Fruit Extract, Spearmint, Rosemary Oil, Pine Needle, Grapefruit Extract Sodium Silicate, Magnesium Aluminium Silicate, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin

I haven’t tried the mists/toners you’re taking about (although I’ve looked at them, I too, love those spray toners, facial mists, etc) Pearlessence Aloe + Charcoal Detoxifying Mask is a clay mask that includes activated charcoal and aloe vera leaf juice as key ingredients. Activated charcoal works by trapping toxins and impurities in its millions of tiny pores. Rather than absorbing the toxins, however, activated charcoal works through adsorption (the chemical reaction where elements bind to a surface). Thus, activated charcoal helps to purify and detoxify the skin. Aloe vera leaf juice helps to soothe and hydrate the skin. Lastly, this mask contains two types of natural clays: kaolin and bentonite. These clays both have excellent absorption properties, which means they can absorb excess oil from the pores and help to reduce shine. They also function as gentle abrasives that can exfoliate the top layers of skin, removing any accumulated dead skin cells to reveal a brighter, smoother complexion.
