About this deal

Ale hailed as the next big thing as sales soar". London: The Grocer. 9 July 2007 . Retrieved 4 November 2009. It’s not clear whether the low alcohol version is a new recipe or simply the original with the alcohol removed. As with the original, it uses Pale and Crystal malts and Challenger, First Gold and Goldings hops – staple ingredients in many British ales. More than 40 years on, this unique and distinctive ale continues to be a finely balanced beer with a distinctive rich, toffee-malt taste and fruity aroma. Svart/Hvit from @nogneo . Treacle, coffee, roasted malts and vanilla on the nose, restrained bitterness with more roasted grains, coffee and a slight caramel sweetness as we taste. Lovely hefty body. Could easily pass for a full-fat stout free-beer.co.uk/nogne-o-svar… #alcoholfree @FreeBeer_UK - Sep 5 The gluten free beer is brewed with its usual quality ingredients and to its normal recipe, with the reduction in gluten content achieved through an innovation in the brewing process. A bespoke product stream ensures the beers remain segregated and guarantees that they can be designated as gluten free. [38] Old Master Hen [ edit ]

The latest addition to Greene King's range of Hen beers, this limited edition ale is bottle conditioned and brewed with malt, hops, pure water and yeast. The tastes and aromas of this beer is full-bodied and warming, with masses of characteristic toffee and fruit, notes of citrus and orange, and a traditional English hop bitterness. The wortiness/stale maltiness leads the taste. There’s smidgen of caramel flavours too but I found the wortiness overpowering. This type of comparison is even more of a challenge for breweries creating non-alcoholic versions of their current full-strength beers. If you give the no or low alcohol version to a big fan of the original, they’re more likely to be disappointed if the non-alcoholic version doesn’t come up to scratch. Cutting down on your alcohol intake? We’ve got you covered. Our range of low and no alcohol drinks features softer versions of all your favourite drinks. Whether you’re a wine drinker or prefer Prosecco or pale ale, we’ve got something for you to sip. Unlike hop-forward ales like Ghost Ship 0.5 that use US hops, there’s no hoppiness in the aroma apart from a little earthiness, probably provided by the Goldings hops in this.Walsh, Dominic (10 December 2003). "Greene King gets set to brew more". The Times. London . Retrieved 4 November 2009.

But what about if you don’t know the original or don’t drink any alcoholic drinks? I fear you might be disappointed too.The Ten Best Winter Ales". The Independent. London. 27 November 2008. Archived from the original on 15 September 2009 . Retrieved 4 November 2009. There’s a touch of sweetness mid-sip, but not enough bitterness to balance it. In fact, I found the bitterness hard to detect until I’d taken a few sips. The mouthfeel initially felt synthetic, but it’s got a good body (similar to the original version) and a lovely amount of smooth carbonation that could rival a cask beer.
