The Angel Experiment is a middle-of-the-road, adventure fiction, that reads like a 1980s Uncanny X-Men comic book. I would add that it probably reads as a less sophisticated Chris Claremont title because those books were the apex of the mythology.

When interviewed, Gazzy gives his name as Captain Terror (spelled Teror) and claims to have never seen an Eraser. The agent is surprised to realize that Gazzy is only eight, because he's tall for his age.Max also has the ability to fly extremely fast, her top speed at roughly 240–250 miles per hour (verified by the Director through a microchip in her arm), or over 350 miles per hour in a fast dive.

Fang and Nudge reach Lake Mead and spend the night in a cave, studying the flight patterns of the local hawks, while Iggy and Gazzy – resentful at being left behind and eager to fight off Erasers – begin working on traps and bombs. The Erasers return to the area the next morning, only to drive into one of the traps. Iggy and Gazzy evade them and blow up their house in the process. Angel began to seem more morally ambiguous and predicted the destruction of humanity. She used her powers at school to influence her teacher. Later, on a field trip, she wandered off from the group and met the President of the United States, apparently telepathically inducing him to remove military funding and instead fund public education and homeless shelters. Max has a tall and thin build, standing 5'8" in The Angel Experiment and MAX. She has a wingspan that startsMaximum spends about 8+ chapters with a family in a subplot that appears to tie into the primary story, but, in fact, does not. Angel started becoming more and more disobedient, and Max had to "save" her several times. Angel did end up saving the day herself many times, though, and in the end she was the key to solving the problem of the toxic waste and the "mountain" ( the Krelp) and rescuing Max's mom. Angel approved of Max and Fang's relationship, even giving them a thumbs-up in the epilogue as they kissed in the sky. On January 27, 2009, Yen Press published a manga version of The Angel Experiment, the first volume in a series. The graphics were done by college artist NaRae Lee as her first manga novel. It received positive reception. The School Library Journal praised Lee for her "superb job" of adapting the book to "attractive manga-style illustrations", though it noted that the narrative was "a bit slow at first". Booklist said that the plot of the story was "presented with boisterous and nicely stylized images that purposively exploit manga features, postures, and symbolism", as well as that its cliffhanger would "entice readers to seek the next in the series". A Kindle version of the manga novel was also released. The Angel Experiment is finished in the second volume of the manga. The Renegades bringing a battery, that raises the temperature for the plague to take hold. The plague makes people turn against one another. Moke is chained to it and powering it with his ability. Hawk gets Pietro and the hybrids to fight the threats eventually beating them.
