What would one call the TOZO Golden X1 earbud design? I’d say hybrid half bean, half stem. The half-stem statement in particular fits it well because the stem is not a long one and is just a stub. The common denominator in these eight TOZO earbuds and every other pair of wireless earbuds in their lineup is an affordability-first mindset that doesn’t sacrifice quality.

The compatible audio codecs the Golden X1 can run are AAC, SBC, and LDAC. Note that this set doesn’t run any aptX codecs so I suggest you keep that in mind. But if your device can run on LDAC you’re golden, no pun intended. SOUND QUALITY: A dynamic sound, tuned to please many. Boosted bass and lower-mids and forwarded vocals to give an energetic sound. The bass can be a bit bulbous, with strong, long-lasting thumps. It also reveals the sub-bass - the darkest bass tones you can feel as much as hear - easy, although things can become a bit boomy. The T9 is more bass-centric than other Tozo models, which can be entertaining for dance, electronic, and hip-hop songs. The output nozzles will accept aftermarket tips but they seem to have a slightly oval shape at the tip so you might find them a bit awkward for ear tip rolling.

Waterproofdevices are usually rated to IPX7/8 standards and resist water ingress up to the pressure of being stationary under 1 meter/3.3 foot of water for 30-60 minutes. On the other hand,Sweatproofrefers to IP second digit four up to 6, ranging from splashing water to water jets. Waterproof is doing better protection than Sweatproof when we think of it for earbuds/in-ear headphones. How to connect TOZO earbuds? If you have a BT 5.3 transmitter feeding the Golden X1 it could yield you a longer transmission distance but with my trusty FiiO BTA30 5.0 transmitter, I could go past 37 feet with no dropouts as long as I stay in clear view of the source. The TOZO Golden X1 microphone system uses a 3-point, 3-microphone setup with ENC call noise reduction that uses passive noise reduction technology to detect external noise and remove it at the call level before it reaches the listener on the other end. They’re also comfortable to wear as a set for long periods. But they are sonically sensitive to ear tip selection, particularly size-wise. The wrong size affects the bass mostly and it also affects the midrange bands I noticed.

Not to mention 8 hours of battery life (without ANC) on these true wireless earbuds. You’ll never have to take these puppies off.In terms of aesthetics, the earbuds do not look very appealing or high-tech. They are very susceptible to scratches and can damage easily. Fortunately, they are very easy to replace — because of their lower price tag. TOZO products may come in at a quarter the price of some competitors, but quality shouldn’t be something to worry about. In today’s busy, budget-minded world, features like IPX8 waterproofing, noise-canceling, and hi-fi sound on top of the Bluetooth 5.0 platform at TOZO prices are hard to beat.

TOZO took a gamble, and I believe it's paid off really well. The TOZO Golden X1 wireless earbuds are of superior make and they perform wonderfully. It's hard to find LDAC and hi-res audio support in wireless earbuds, much less with this mix of specs.I have to admit something here before we continue. I’ve become a snob when it comes to Bluetooth audio transmission because to me, if it doesn’t run LDAC, I turn away. Well, TOZO caught my eye as soon as I realized the Golden X1 runs LDAC plus some other basic codecs. CALLS AND GAMES: The Tozo A1 puts your voice through clear enough in calls, but a bit too soft. Nearby and distant noise around you comes through very loud and overrules your voice, just like wind does. It's only doable to take a phone or video call with these in quiet areas. Also, the cherry on top: the charging case on the TOZO earbuds provides an additional 32 hours of playtime and it can be fully charged in just 1.5 hours. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Apple’s AirPods. When you open the Golden X1 box by sliding the top off, you’re greeted with the cradle, the two earbuds, and a tip tray containing five rubber tip sets in different sizes. Add the preinstalled set to that for a total of six sets. Both earbuds themselves are very comfortable and ergonomic as they can be worn comfortably — for six long hours that its battery life will allow. They also provide four different ear tips so you can adjust them as necessary.
