About this deal

Marty Adler had a huge corner office on the thirty-seventh floor. I stopped at his secretary's desk, expecting to have to give my name, but she glanced up and flashed me a familiar smile. "Hi, Ingrid. I'm Sharon. Nice to meet you. Mr. Adler's expecting you. Go on in." Thank you to the author and the publisher, Carina Press & Carina Adores (Harlequin), for sharing an ARC of this book with me, through NetGalley! Alyssa Farah Griffin Defends Justin Timberlake Following Britney Spears' Explosive Abortion Claims On 'The View': "They Were Both In A Very Toxic Environment"

This book had all the tropes you could think of: enemies to lovers, forced proximity, office romance and age gap. But it didn't give a strong impact. Chances to shine in front of Marty Adler didn't come along every day, especially not mere weeks before your partnership vote. "I'd love to be on your team, Marty." Dominic Sherwood as Jeff Murphy, an attorney who recently transferred from Parsons Valentine & Hunt's London office and Ingrid's one-night stand from 6 years agoHere was another thing about all the male attorneys I worked with. They all called me by my last name, Yung, instead of by my first name, Ingrid. I wondered if some of them even knew what my first name was. But I didn’t mind this. I’d been in the corporate world long enough to know that it was a good sign. When they felt comfortable enough to swear like sailors around me, I knew I was finally in. In her debut novel, Wan introduces readers to Ingrid Yung, a likeable, flawed but brave heroine, who must learn to trust her worth from within. And her journey, told in Wan’s suave prose, not too ostentatious, not too sparse, is a fascinating journey that many women (especially) will enjoy as voyeurs. This is spicy right off the bat. The guy is fully into her and wants a relationship. He leads with sexy times and that's what she's comfortable with. It’s a win-win situation and Perdie knows it… but struggles are struggles and the reader fights through all of them with her, hoping that one day she’ll realise … A wholly engrossing behind-the-scenes look at real life behind the pomp, power and prestige of a high-powered law firm that wants to still play by a 1950s rule book." –Emma McLaughlin & Nicola Kraus, co-authors of "Citizen Girl"

Ingrid and Z convince his dad to vote and everything is set, until the day of the shareholders meeting when they lean shareholders with 2% or more have to vote in person. Thanks to some expert stalling they manage to get Wujay to the meeting on time and successfully hold and win their vote of no confidence for Ted. Franklin becomes Vice Chair, and he motions to remove Ted as SunCorp CEO and replace him with Z. Photo: Netflix P.S. There is the death of a pet in this book, which made me cry and then kiss my dog. I know it can be difficult for some to read, so I’m mentioning it here.

Partner Track ending: Where do we leave off with Tyler and Rachel?

How 'The Buccaneers' Crafted Josie Totah and Mia Threapleton’s "Joyful" Queer Romance: "Never Even a Discussion" He’s sweet, caring but also rough and hard when he needs to be. He respects her. He is jealous. But tell me you don’t love it when the man falls first !!!

The only reason this book wasn’t a 5 star read to me is because I felt the ending dragged on a tiny bit too long and yeah I would of liked a bit more romance. I mean who doesn’t lol. That’s really my only complaints. That doesn’t mean the now nearly-decade-old novel was completely true to contemporary experiences Lee is familiar with. Scenes like the cringeworthy retreat sequence (in which a racially charged stand-up set goes horribly wrong) had to be updated from their place in the book. A wholly engrossing behind-the-scenes look at real life behind the pomp, power and prestige of a high-powered law firm that wants to still play by a 1950s rule book.”— Emma McLaughlin & Nicola Kraus, co-authors of Citizen Girl and The Nanny DiariesIngrid Yung's life is full of firsts. A first-generation Chinese American, the first lawyer in her family, she's about to collect the holy grail of "firsts" and become the first minority woman to make partner at the venerable old law firm Parsons Valentine & Hunt. Behind Helen Wan's wit and sparkling prose is a poignant and at times, painfully honest tale of loyalty, ambition and sacrifice. Funny, fragile, sometimes bold, often unsure, Ingrid Yung is one of those unforgettable heroines that you actually miss, like a dear friend, when the story’s over." –Ann Leary, New York Times bestselling author of "The Good House" Many people think that she is a hideout because she has a few things going for her. On the one hand, she is a woman. Second, she is Asian. The firm has never appointed a minority woman as a partner at Mergers & Acquisitions, where Ingrid works and there is real pressure on partners to be diverse. With Ingrid they get a “Zwei-Fer”. Stream It Or Skip It: 'Fargo' Season 5 On FX, Where Juno Temple Is A Minnesota Housewife Running From Her Past, And Jon Hamm Is The Person Chasing Her That’s a huge, huge punch in the gut. That was really unexpected,” Cho tells Tudum. “She definitely dressed for the occasion to become partner, and then the news — wow. To feel like the world is finally falling into the perfect place and she’s saving the day, and she’s got the love and she’s got the friends and everything is good, and then the way the show ends, what do we do now? Dun dun dun. Oh, boy.”

So," he continued without preamble, "I'm wondering about your availability this month. Do you have any time coming up?"

Dolly Parton's Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Outfit For NFL Halftime Show Caused Everyone To Lose Their Minds: “Dolly Parton Just Won Thanksgiving” There was a beep, followed by Marty Adler himself. “Ingrid, hello,” he said. His voice was deep and growly, yet I had always thought there was something kind about it, too. I rather liked it.
