Today, the Tamagotchi comes to us a little different than they used to be. How Is the New Tamagotchi Different Today? In 2022, Original Tamagotchi had fans looking to change up their style covered with three new shells to revamp their collections as well as the launch of our 25th Anniversary device ! If that wasn’t enough, Tamagotchi Nano had two very exciting collaboration announcements to help fans fuel their fandoms: Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story Tamagotchi and TinyTAN Tamagotchi ! The Parent Stage results when two Tamagotchi adults marry and produce offspring. The parents will stay with the next generation, appearing in some minigames and are brought out to feed the children and administer medicine. Once the user has chosen a Tamagotchi to receive a marriage partner, it will say goodbye to its parents and any siblings it may have. The partner can make a comment about what time of day the player is playing the game, greeting them good morning or asking why they're up so late.
There's no doubt that playing and caring for your Tamagotchi pet is a huge part of the fun, but real fans know that collecting them all is just as important. The only exception is a Kuritchi that hatched from an egg which will evolve after an hour and act like a standard baby stage character. On the Tamagotchi Mini and most Tamagotchi Nano releases, the baby stage will last 24 hours, and then evolve into an adult, skipping the child and teen stages. In vintage Japanese media, this stage was not considered an independent stage; rather, it was an extension of the baby stage, although it could die at this stage. Releases from 2004 onward have codified them to be distinct from each other.
