About this deal

It also has fantastic peak brightness in HDR, and thanks to its impressive local dimming feature, blacks look dark, inky, and uniform in a dark room, and bright highlights stand out incredibly well. It's an excellent TV with impressive picture quality with its Mini LED backlight, which lets it display deep, uniform blacks with almost no noticeable blooming in dark scenes, so HDR movies look fantastic. The Hisense U7K is now our 'Best Lower Mid-Range QLED' pick, and the newer Hisense U6/U6K replaced the older Hisense U6/U6H.

It has excellent contrast and a good full array local dimming feature, so it looks amazing in a dark room, even if it's not as good as the Mini LED backlight on the higher-end Hisense. Some issues with motion control – and some half-baked smart features – hold it back from greatness, but the U7QF is still a great choice for a new 4K HDR television. If you’re willing to spend a bit more for an even better piece of kit, the Samsung AU9000 review (50AU9000) was rated five stars in its T3 review. As we do with all reviews we factory reset the Hisense A7GQ and then measured the picture presets to find the most accurate to the industry standards, out of the box, so we can view content as it was mastered and intended to be seen. A lot is crammed into a small amount of space, but the design feels relatively unique, which is notable in a flooded television market. The top-left app on the home screen is Netflix, and it’s rather odd that it’s the only app whose position you can’t change. For example, the Hisense U8H is a high-end 2022 model, while the Hisense A6H is an entry-level 2022 model. The Roku Plus Series QLED is a strong competitor to the Hisense U6/U6K but falls a bit short due to the better color accuracy of the Hisense.

There’s a button that takes you straight to the Vidaa U home page, as well as buttons that give you quick access to some streaming services, including Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, and Freeview Play. Selecting HDR Day makes it more visible in the sun, but also makes the colors a bit oversaturated, while HDR Night makes them too dull.

In some ways, it's an even better gaming TV than the more expensive Hisense due to its faster refresh rate, leading to a slightly more responsive gaming experience overall.

The demo reels shown at CES had very few dark areas, so it was difficult to get a sense of how well they actually performed. It also has fantastic reflection handling and exceptional peak brightness, so it looks great even in the brightest rooms.Unfortunately, its image processing is significantly worse than on the higher-tier Hisense TVs, so there's visible digital noise when watching low-bitrate content from streaming platforms.

When watching Jason Statham flick The Mechanic, a quick flurry of movement would cause sections of the screen to lag behind others. Hisense’s new VIDAA U5 Smart TV OS lets you enjoy all your favourite entertainment from Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, and Freeview Play, and control your TV using your voice with VIDAA Voice. It has a direct LED backlight with no local dimming and it features HDR10, HDR10+, HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) and Dolby Vision for high dynamic range playback, but this is limited to a measured peak brightness of around 240 nits. Still, it's a great TV for gaming, as it has superbly low input lag and variable refresh rate support for a responsive, nearly tear-free gaming experience. so while it is possible to set it up by yourself it’ll be much easier if you have another person to lend a hand.
