As expected, Scott Brick delivers another excellent narration, although I think the lack of sensitivity in the story-line(s) somewhat limited his ability to portray the emotions within several areas of the book. Anjelina, however, is innocent, and as Smoak discovers, Aragon is far more complicated than any drug kingpin has any right to be. I enjoyed the slow growth and changes for the better in some of the main characters and thought it would make an intense and exciting motion picture. I was reading at a frantic eager to see if this was one too many but lo and behold “ the nowhere man” was victorious.

The Orphan X series has always been about moral ambiguity and the razor-thin line separating right from wrong, but this novel takes Evan even farther down the dark road than he's been before . Evan asks Joey to oversee his apartment's renovations while he's gone, and in one of the book's lighter moments, Evan comes home to find a disco ball and Velcro jumping wall installed in his living room. As always, there is a lot going on, and the story moves at a very brisk pace, which of course makes it hard to put aside. In this book Mia experiences a health scare, and Evan gets even more involved with the prosecutor and her boy.

When he eventually connects with Anjelina Urrea, there’s a wrinkle in the situation that need a massive alteration of his plans. Some parts with Joey were fun, but she is starting to be overwritten - a bit too rude, too aggressive, not light hearted any more. The supporting characters like Joey (another Orphan), Tommy (the gunsmith), or Evan's neighbors at Castle Heights are all well defined, and I love them all.With a fast pace, a kick-ass narrator, (Scott Brick), and a story that just won't quit, I loved this book! Taking the guards down non-lethally, Evan crept into the surprising simple home of Aragon Urrea, the “unconventional businessman” and put and knife to his throat. If Evan is going to put his life on the line to rescue Anjelina, he must first decide whether he can act on behalf of a bad man.

It's like watching a game of soccer, and at some point the referee blows his whistle and everyone starts unpacking their tennis rackets.
