About this deal

Has anyone put a temperature probe inside one of those insulating jackets and actually seen if they have any effect at all? It may seem like an extreme scenario but I investigated an incident a few years ago where a battery exploded and that was one of our findings.

Depends on how much stop and go driving you do and how much heat it's exposed to while under the hood. Cell Saver™ is very capable of damping vibration and will absorb and neutralize any damaging leaky battery acids. I agree, the only way to have a warm battery on a cold morning is to have a heater and/or tender charger on the battery.

I don’t need a plugin heater as the winters here are mild, just something to keep the chill off and doesn’t need removing before starting the car.

Warming them up in the cold might keep them going a little longer but doesn't solve the problem that they are failing, that is only solved by replacement. In fact, the internal combustion engine under the hood of your car begins to look like the simplest of “Baby’s First…” toys when compared to the inscrutable internal workings of your basic human being. You may think of your battery as something separate and distinct from your engine, but the truth is that the two systems actually do affect each other. Using your headlights and radio to keep the camp party rocking on after sundown may seem like a great idea at the time, but you may see it differently when you’re stranded in the woods next morning. You can purchase a new one direct from the auto manufacturer or find used ones which are just as functional at salvage yards.I previously used the material in below link for reconditioning an engine cover for a VAG diesel engine (tested successfully even for 8 hour long trips). I've read batteries suffer most from the heat coming from the engine, rather than the cold temperatures during winter. These kits usually have a plastic pad to go under the battery and adhesive material that applies directly to the battery. When I was nursing a weak battery on my old '76 Chevy Pickup, I got in the habit of bringing the battery inside with me. If you decide you do not wish to keep a correctly supplied item then please contact us within 7 days of receipt.

Remember that you can always reach out to a manufacturer to prototype your EV battery adhesives if you’re looking for suitable materials or testing design adjustments. My old Rover 3500S (M plate 1974) (P6 / Rover 2000 bodyshape) had the battery located in the rear offside wing / chassis.

Silicone struggles to adhere to other materials that aren’t itself, so if you’re designing a silicone adhesive thermal gap pad, you need to be aware it could become necessary to choose a particular adhesive when making double sided attachments to non-silicone materials. Most of the manufacturers/importers in our market do not credit anybody with warranty carriage costs, but if they do, we will pass it onto you.
