While the story centers around the romance, I loved the added message of self discovery and how, at the start, neither one of them wanted to be in Blue Belle, but how that evolves by the end. This was such a sweet, deep, small town sports romance, and I’m so happy to have received an early digital copy to review! Like the heroine and a few of her friends are nearly perfect, and the rest of the women in the story are either background noise or just straight up crazy bitches.Both characters had such an emotional background story that it made every little thing that came up make sense in how they reacted. This was probably one of the only instances in which I didn’t mind the “deceased wife” trope because while she was portrayed as someone that was nice and whom he loved, we were really showed and told that his relationship with the heroine was on another level, some soulmate type thing (if you believe in that). As things feel too real and lines get crossed will they let the past ruin their future, or take a chance on love?

I don’t reread often but I can definitely see this being a comfort read—it was just so heartwarmingly good.There is animosity between them at first when they meet again in Texas, then they become reluctant friends, and then share a secret and help each other becoming even closer. With Beauty and the Baller, we are getting a glorious mix of sports romance, one-night stands impossible to forget and a second chance feel to it too. And this new neighbor kinda asks her to be his fake girlfriend - because the whole town is trying to find him a wife to make him stay!

I was so sad that I saw it up on NG but couldn’t request it (damn location lol) but I’m definitely highly anticipating it! She completely stole the show for me with Dear Ava and now she is back with another emotional love story that I know many romance readers will love. Their first kiss after their ONS is at 31%, and then their first smexy time is at 65% (oh LAWD it was 🔥).The chemistry between Ronan and Nova is unmistakable and Ronan realizes she is the one that got away. A southern bell and a football coach, fated mates from different worlds that collide to one and are truly inseparable.
