Those two variables are at the top of my list when evaluating a new scope for my squirrel rifles, along with the best clarity I can purchase for limited funds. Whilst not scratch resistant as you get on some models, the fact that Bushnell have added their water-repellent lens coatings to the exterior surfaces is a sure sign of quality and is definitely not something that gets added to lower end models.

Fully multi-coated optical systems deliver the brightest, highest-contrast images with the least amount of eye strain because only a very small percentage of light is lost before it reaches the viewer's eye. However with the Bushnell Legend Ultra HD binoculars, they place a little more emphasis on value for money, but still with the main objective of maintaining as high a quality of image and outer components as possible. I’m so impressed with this offering from Bushnell that it resides on two different rifles that frequent the squirrel timber. So a few years later I decided I would send the scope to Bushnell, explaining to them I stripped the windage turret, and ask them to repair the problem and send me the bill.They are not re-settable to zero, but I’ve never dabbled in the resetting of turrets so it doesn’t effect me as a squirrel hunter. To keep the lenses clear even in the rain, we coated them with our Rainguard HD coating to repel water so you can see clearly when other optics wouldn't. O-ring (this lasts longer) or rubber band between the moving part and one side or the other of the hinge. is not terrible, for eye-glass wearers it is right on the boundary of what I recommend as being the absolute minimum to ensure you can still get the full field of view through them whilst still wearing your glasses.

The Bushnell Legend Ultra HD comes in four different magnification and aperture combinations which all offer incredibly wide angles of view to let you see as much of the scene before you as possible.Out of the box the Bushnell Legend Ultra HD Monocular comes with a semi-ridged, padded oversized case, which is better than most of the cases I have seen optics come with. On the side is a belt clip for quickly securing it for hands-free and carry yet being quickly accessible.
