About this deal

Bretman was simultaneously unapologetic in who he is and also very aware of the ways he has caused harm and must apologize for past behaviors and continue to learn.

The tone is so well established through the dialogue utilised throughout each of his stories, and his voice radiates pure confidence. Finally, I loved the inclusion of the little tips at the end of each chapter; it made it feel like this was partially a self-help book. I listened to it on Audible and I’m so glad I did because it made me laugh and it also made me tear. Although I’ve been following Bretman for a while, he reveals a lot of information about himself in this book that he hasn’t spoken about on his social media channels where he’s mainly an entertainer. But I wanted the book to circle back into the reader while sharing my story and telling them that you’re that b--ch as well. But there are only so many disparaging comments about lesbians and tactless editorial choices that a reader can take. Other stories highlight what it's like to grow up queer, to be an immigrant, to come from a big family, to come from a family that dealt with divorce/separation, spirituality, remembering your roots, and celebrating the people who helped shape him into who he is, grief, and so many other stories I can't think of right now. Honestly he is one unproblematic social media presence and I really enjoy his content for that reason.

The lingo used may not be understood by some readers unless u hv been a follower or watched hs videos. He drops a “biiitch” or a “giiirl” every few sentences, which makes it so entertaining to listen to. I’ve been an entrepreneur since I was a toddler, and all of the little businesses I started as a kid— from selling feather earrings plucked straight off my cousin’s cockfighting chickens to using makeup to cover up all the girls’ hickeys in high school—led to my success and prepared me for this wild-ass life I created. Each chapter reveals a new side to the social media star, cracking open a chamber of memories and allowing readers an unadulterated look inside. It's equal parts memoir and self-help conveyed in the most entertaining, expletive-laced manner possible. Sometimes, it’s just to record a dream I had the night before; other times, it’s just what I’m going to eat that day.

I have lots to say about it, and I hope it will not only help other LGBTQ+ people but also open the hearts, minds, and eyes of my straight fans. To sum it up, "You're That Bitch" is a must-read for anyone seeking empowerment, personal growth, and a boost of confidence.I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone who needs a pick me up in life, and wants to strive to be their best self. Bretman is hilarious and honest when telling his story and I kinda feel like I need to listen to the audio version? Rock speaks with Shondaland about his new book, nonbinary fashion, and how he defines the American dream. Hilarious and earnest, this collection of essays, drawings, recipes, how-tos and never-before-seen photos goes far beyond what we know of Bretman Rock from social media.

Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. But also, I stop and look around at an event sometimes and say to myself, “You weren’t even supposed to be here, b--ch. I don't like to rate memoirs/autobiographies because I find rating someone's life trashy and completely off tase. This hilarious, impossible-to-put-down memoir takes readers on a roller-coaster ride through Bretman's first two decades.

You're That Bitch' welcomes you into Bretman Rock's world—from how his childhood in the Philippines, his family, Filipino culture, and being a first-generation immigrant helped shape him into who he is today.
