About this deal

It reads as distanced, smug and arrogant -- the writings of someone who seems to have no apparent experience with the kind of criminal mind he's attempting to satirize. Well things do go bump in the night here in both the score and the “Hip To Be Square” soundtrack, but also the chainsaw, gunshots and even explosions near the film’s end when Bateman’s brain is seemingly melting. core which promotes some excellent surround usage, a refined treatment of the all-important song tracks, the orchestral score, and the equally important dialogue. Not only do they - as is unfortunately not the norm for any other studio - port all of the Blu-ray extras over to the Ultra HD Blu-ray disc itself, but they sometimes even afford it new ones too. Though the image does clean up as the film progresses, there are still moments that are noticeably more ragged, with excessive grain and even dirt.

I'm including the screenshots from both discs just fro the sake of being absolutely thorough, but don't get it twisted. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice.

I honestly could not envision DiCaprio the way Bale owned the role of Bateman and what he brought to not only the psychosis of the character, but its physicality too. As far as object-based activity, there really isn't much to speak of save for one terrific element: the narration. just for fun, if I were to pick a different American born (lol) actor to play the lead in AMERICAN PSYCHO - out of all the other actors and directors mooted - it would probably be Brad Pitt or Edward Norton as Bateman and David Cronenberg in the director's chair. In addition to the old bonus features, Lionsgate has seen fit to offer up fans a couple of new extras including a brand new audio commentary track with Mary Harron and they brought over a longer Book to Screen mini-doc that had only previously been available on DVD. And now there's a 2018 4k Ultra HD disc and blu-ray combo-pack that just about renders them all obsolete. The violence is way toned down in terms of visceral gruel, but pumped up in visual excess, so it becomes surreal (even comic book-like), making it not only palatable, but justifiable as an artistic device through which to explore the book's themes of misogyny, wanton violence and amorality. And no, they didn't bring back the older interviews or featurette either, nor did they add anything new. We don't even get the illicit thrills of a carnival freak show, just the tedium of ugliness masquerading as art. Considering DiCaprio almost snapped the role, American Psycho could have been a very different film, and not necessarily one for the better. They completely left off all of the From Book To Screen documentary, except for the VH1 80s chapter; the final half hour.

The Bold New Take on The Beloved Classic “The Color Purple” Debuts on 4K, Blu-ray and DVD March 12th! When they're done running up huge tabs at the trendiest restaurants, they're doing lines at the hippest nightclubs in New York.Meanbwhile, Harron's track is unique in that she admits upfront that at the time of the commentary's recording, she hadn't seen the film in many years. The press release of this title said it best so I am going to lift from that to conclude here as I seemingly have no more original thoughts on the matter.
