The shampoo is sulfate free which is the ingredient that strips hair of its color as well as its shine. According to L'Oreal, "EverPure Color Care products are 100% vegan and contain naturally-derived cleansing ingredients with no harsh, color-stripping sulfates or salts.

I've dyed my hair so much and when unable to find the brand I usually used, I went to this one because I was attracted by the Sulfate free on the label.The EverPure Smooth Deep Control Masque was my favorite product, and gave my hair a boost that left it thicker, stronger and smoother than before.

Just because the chemicals don't work for your hair type does not mean that the chemicals are to blame.

Has to be combined with some other nice preservatives, like potassium sorbate to be broad spectrum enough. I too tried the product at the suggestion of my daughter because it was supposed to be so gentle and more"natural. It usually has to be neutralized with a base (such as sodium hydroxide) for the thickening to occur and it creates viscous, clear gels that also feel nice and non-tacky on the skin.
