About this deal

The band consists of singer Damon Albarn, guitarist Graham Coxon, bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree. The first album from Blur in twelve years, born from a chance cancellation of a gig back in 2013, much to the disappointment of fans at the time but to their unbridled bouncy joy today. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. All image and audio content is used by permission of the copyright holders or their agents, and/or according to fair dealing as per the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. The Magic Whip is the upcoming eighth studio album by the English rock band Blur, which will be released on 27 April 2015.

It’s fantastic, but compared to the two new songs they’ve released in 2023, it feels incredibly transitional. However, the entire festival was cancelled for unknown reasons, leaving the band stranded in Hong Kong for an extra 5 days. The record came sealed and appears to be the above version in every conceivable way (even has the obi), but has no poster or download card. Songs on The Magic Whip mention internet hotspots, satellite showers, industrial light and glass arcades. Alternative rock groups wish their 'creative' side, which usually leaves the listener a little weirded out, sounded as good as Blur just being, well.Language - Regardless of country of origin all tracks are sung in English, unless otherwise stated in our description. Bit of a mystery, here--missed this on initial release, and had been looking for a copy for the last few months.

Their eighth album, The Magic Whip (2015), was the sixth consecutive Blur studio album to top the British chart. I don't have a clever ice cream or Blur reference to end this review on, but this album is a flavor of music we've been missing that has brought clarity to my cloud-filled album library. Blur's self-titled fifth album (1997) saw another stylistic shift, influenced by the lo-fi styles of American indie rock groups, and became their third UK chart-topping album. We carry a broad range of CDs and vinyl (7”/12” singles and LPs) and specialise in indie, alternative, rock, punk, metal plus a few other genres. Regardless of country of origin all tracks are sung in English, unless otherwise stated in our description.

Not sure what exactly I've got here--I'm pretty sure it's not a boot (haven't heard tell of or seen boots of this one, and the packaging is beautiful, way higher quality than any boot I've ever seen), so is it a brand new repress or something else? It wasn't until Graham Coxon reprised these sessions and presented them to long-time producer Stephen Street, who went on to develop them with the guitarist, that they realised they might have material worthy of a new album.

Following a stylistic change influenced by English guitar pop groups such as the Kinks, Depeche Mode and Radiohead, Blur released Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993), Parklife (1994) and The Great Escape (1995).I like to imagine everyone in Blur was sitting around a room, and after a long silence of watching everyone else coming out with albums, without saying anything, they all stood up, walked in unison to the recording studio in the next room and hit record.

Initially conceived in Hong Kong, during downtime following a cancelled show in Japan, the band spent five days laying down ideas. In the following months, Albarn had stated in interviews that he was unsure whether the resulting music would ever be released. The package itself is something else too, there’s an Asian influence, possibly as recordings were made in Hong Kong, the sleeve is beautiful and even has an Obi strip like vinyl from Japan. Like Albarn's recent solo work, it explores the distant traveler's conflicting sense of wonder and alienation.
