About this deal

When The Strokes burst onto the scene with their debut album, "Is This It," back in 2001, they ignited a rock revival that resonated with fans around the world.

Release Date: 12th January Thank you Strokes for saving us from Nu Metal and bland Post-Britpop indie. The Strokes' "Is This It" on limited edition vinyl is an essential addition to any music lover's collection.

The Strokes’ dynamic 2001 debut 'Is This It' includes hard-to-resist faves like 'Last Nite' and 'Someday' which helped the growly Julian Casablancas and co. My only complaints are the package feels like it's missing a lyric sheet and I'm not too keen on the vinyl splatter, would've preferred a teal-ish colour to match the cover art. One, it is the ONLY pressing that has the same tracklist as the CD version that came out in 2001, which is how I got to know and fell in love with this album.

The guitars have a satisfying crunch, the drums punch through with intensity, and Julian Casablancas' iconic vocals take center stage in a way that feels raw and unfiltered. Three singles were released from the album: ‘Hard to Explain’/’New York City Cops’, ‘Last Nite’, and ‘Someday’. German retailer JPC are listing a limited edition white vinyl pressing of The Strokes‘ debut Is This It, to be released next month. We use cookies to give you the best possible experience on our site, provide personalised content and advertising, analyse our traffic, and ensure you see more of what you love. Tracks like "Last Nite," "Someday," and "Hard to Explain" showcase the band's knack for crafting irresistible hooks and catchy choruses.

While frontman Julian Casablancas (son of elite models founder john) drawls like Lou Reed through a busted intercom, guitarists Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr do Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd proud as their sinewy chords intertwine to great effect on the angular The Modern Age and equally neurotic Alone, Together. Although the band's catchy guitars and garage-rock leanings made this album an instant classic, its provocative cover was arguably just as impactful. The model (his girlfriend at the time) agreed to pose impromptu in the black leather glove after emerging one morning from the shower. The black and white image was shot by Colin Lane, who had been photographing the band in New York prior to the album's release. The album was released in the summer of 2001 and features the singles ‘Hard To Explain’, ‘Last Nite’ and ‘Someday’ all of which were top 20 hits in the UK.
