It's great to have found this band, which gives me some of the energy that I found in my early/mid teens, in the glory days of Arena Rock, but still has a contemporary feel, and knows how to deliver both the, "We're not just gonna' lie down and take this" attitude, as well as a bit of tenderness. It’s almost incredible seeing the look on peoples faces as soon as Lzzy starts shouting out the inevitably addicting chant that is impossible not to fall in love with. The album starts out with Love Bites (So Do I), a song heavier than any off of the band’s debut album. Elsewhere the wonderful transition between "Mz Hyde" and "Miss The Misery" keeps the opening rock numbers strong, ("Freak Like Me" being the only notable exception) before we hit three ballads in a row "Beautiful With You," "In Your Room" and "Break In. Though a short song, it gets its point across with its lyrics, and leads the albums listener in to the next track; the piano ballad Break In.

It sounds like they have a Theremin in the background which is a brilliant touch (Theremins were often used in old horror films). It’s a very catchy tune, not so much an alternative hard rock track, but more like a 70’s blues-based hard rock song. In honour of the Grammy win, it only seems right to make this review on their most recent release, The Strange Case Of…, released in April of 2012, which showed the band expand on their already tremendous sound. Maybe it just struck the right chord with me, but hey, that’s what music is supposed to do right and all I can do is thank the band for writing it BUT make up your own mind on it, I’ll shut up about it now.It was of course the lead single from the album and deservedly so as it showcases Lzzy Hale’s vocal talent that I feel is second to none in the female rock voice department at the moment, I mean this girl can sing! The nice mix of songs and the perfect production would make this a good album, but the singing ability of Lzzy Hale makes this a superb album. One, two… one, two… one, two, three…” Arejay behind his drum paraphernalia sets the tone for “Love Bites (So Do I).

The band members are Lzzy Hale:Vocals and guitar, Arejay Hale: Drums, Joe Hottinger: Lead Guitar, and Josh Smith: Bass! It’s really hard to choose the right superlatives to describe her vocal ability, but she has the best aspects of several singers; she is extremely confident, dynamic and has the attitude. United States, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, South Africa, India, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Israel, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Vietnam. So, if I didn’t already have a rock star crush on Lzzy, I totally would now ha ha, this album is one of my favourites of the year and I’m not sure what will come along that could topple it. The ballads are perfectly nice as rock ballads, though some of them (eg here's to us) sound like melodies I have heard before.

Halestorm before they become famous I think that they had the same dreams with many people out there!

The first single and video from the album "Love Bites (So Do I)" won a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance.

Encouraged by the support and inspired by the urge to purge, Hale wrote more intimate numbers, including the sensitive piano ballad “Break In,” the sparse and melancholy “In Your Room” and the mid-paced ode “Beautiful With You. Josh Smith is an excellent bass player, Joe Hottinger is a guitarist who's solos go somewhere - not just 1000 meaningless notes per second, he does something with them. For starters, they had a prominent spot in the first Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival in 2010 opening the main stage for such bands as Stone Sour, Avenged Sevenfold and Disturbed. The song is very much a love song, based on its lyrics of the age-old story of a girl who is only truly happy when she’s by her man, just told in a very original and modern style.
