According to Nektas, the act of restoring life to so many was not only known to the Primals of Life and of Death but also aided by them. We also got to see Kieran through Cas’ eyes and watching Kieran handle certain situations was epic and shocking. I loved how JLA skillfully immersed us in a world we already loved, but through Cas’ eyes it was unique, addictive and so much more than I ever could have hoped and dreamed!

A Soul of Ash and Blood was intoxicating, gritty, smile inducing and absolutely impossible to put down! When she said Cas’ POV I thought fair enough, naturally assuming we were going to get more material than a literal repetition from book one? I also loved seeing Cas’ side of the budding romance between Poppy and him and seeing the conflicted feelings and the angst he was living with.

We learn that it’s unclear how long the stasis will last and when she wakes up, it’s possible that she will not remember any of them. The heavy meaning to his words as he said we’d better make sure that what Poppy had become was something good. That brightened my smile, and her full lips twitched as she fought back a grin, revealing a hint of sharp canine.
