About this deal

Does anyone remember which CD pressing of Elton John's first greatest hits album (originally released in November 1974) was the first issue to add "Candle in the Wind" sandwiched between "Bennie and the Jets" and "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me"? Some of the technologies we use are necessary for critical functions like security and site integrity, account authentication, security and privacy preferences, internal site usage and maintenance data, and to make the site work correctly for browsing and transactions. My favorite Elton John compilation is actually the 2 disc promo Selections From Rare Masters/Selections from the Elton John Collection [ Elton John - Selections From Rare Masters ].

In 2003, Greatest Hits was ranked at number 135 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time, [9] then was re-ranked at number 136 in a 2012 revised list. It topped the album chart in both the United States and the United Kingdom, staying at number one for ten consecutive weeks in the former nation and eleven weeks in the latter. In 2004, the album was reissued with the 2003 UK number 1 hit " Are You Ready for Love" as the final track on the second disc, replacing " Song for Guy".Etsy’s 100% renewable electricity commitment includes the electricity used by the data centres that host Etsy. Greatest Albums of All Time Rolling Stone's definitive list of the 500 greatest albums of all time". It's also known that Elton's first greatest hits release from 1974 was one of the few anthologies by any artist to reach number 1 on the charts. That also meant the contents for his 1977 and 1987 follow-up greatest-hits albums were changed, so that "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" and "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word" (both from 1976) were removed from the former (these two songs being replaced on that album by "Tiny Dancer" and "I Feel Like a Bullet (In the Gun of Robert Ford)" respectively) and instated on the 1992 compilation Greatest Hits 1976-1986, which not only fulfilled his MCA deal but also replaced his 1987 Geffen compilation, Greatest Hits Volume III, 1979-1987. Greatest Hits is the eleventh official album release for English musician Elton John, and the first compilation.

Many 7" Vinyl Singles are sold in generic card or paper sleeves and not in the picture sleeves which are shown - these will be described as 'Generic' or 'Not Graded' in the condition descriptions above. Still feel that it sounds okay, even though just about every other cd I bought in 2003 has harsh brickwalling (maybe its just the softness of Elton John's tone that makes even a brickwalled master compilation sound tolerable)?Language - Regardless of country of origin all tracks are sung in English, unless otherwise stated in our description. For CDs Grading does not include Jewel case as these are replaceable - however any badly damaged Jewel cases will be replaced.

I was thinking more along the lines of the old German double "Pop Chronik," a good mix of hits and album material which doesn't require an entire evening to listen to, but which goes beyond the mid-1970s.Madman was pretty big here in the US (Top 10) - despite the fact that neither single cracked the Top 20. When I first read your thread, I thought you were asking about the 1984 MCA CD that played "Candle In The Wind" instead of the listed "Bennie And The Jets". All of those excepting for "Grow Some Funk of Your Own" are available on the bonus disc to the European edition. The box is completely sealed, but it does have some wear, including scratches, dents in the box, a hole at the bottom of the box, and possibly a small tear in the plastic wrap.

Released in November 1974, it spans the years 1970 to 1974, compiling ten of John's singles, with one track variation for releases in North America and for Europe and Australia. It was replaced by " Candle in the Wind" for the UK and Australian edition, having been a hit in both of those countries but never released as a single in the US and Canada. Sadly, beyond the box set (and that's a quarter century out of date now), there doesn't seem to be such a thing. Please remember it can take some time for Paypal or your card issuer to process and post the refund. Kiss the Bride" was also omitted to make room for the remake of " Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word" featuring the boy band Blue. It was configured differently for the American and European markets, and also available in a three- compact disc version in addition to the standard two-disc version. There is NO compilation that does a good job of covering the post 1990 era--and the forthcoming Diamonds doesn't really do that, either.
