About this deal

Metal is prevalent, featuring three breakdowns, one of which being in the first minute, while the fast choruses make it the ultimate EDM workout anthem. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. A certain edge that wasn’t there before has now become the raving pink elephant in the room, packed with never-ending energy and breaking every boundary. This is obviously half the point, and the band are clearly enjoying themselves (and, indeed, trolling those who don't dig it). It’s the same with Pump It, and We Got The Moves, and Arrow Of Love; it’s the work of a joke band where any of hint of a pejorative in such a sentiment has been acid-washed right off, and that’s where a lot of the fun comes from.

The verses are metalcore through and through, the chorus is melodic with a hard/rock sound behind Nico’s soft singing, but its David Friedrich who shines in the spotlight with his incredible display of blast beats and frantic drumming throughout. and you’ll either be down for the ride or find yourself hitting the skip button for something less intense.huge breakdowns, brilliant pop choruses, modern and old-school electro, metalcore riffs, and a large dose of escapist fun. During the worst of the pandemic, I remember the goofy humor of the “Hypa Hypa” music video lifting my spirits and I definitely wasn’t the only one. Spaceman’ (featuring German rapper Finch) has lively techno moments that are contrasted by big metalcore sections and EDM choruses which hail rave culture.

When all is said and done, as the last few notes of the outro ‘Neon’ fade out, what you get is an album that would be good to play at both a nightclub at 2am, as well as in a field in Derbyshire at a certain metal festival.Furthermore, they are looking forward to a completely sold-out UK tour in September to present their sixth studio album “Tekkno”. The screams are few and far between, but if you’re coming here for just the metalcore aspects this band do so well, you’re probably going to have a bad time – So embrace the wacky, cheesy lyrics and that breakdown section which is going to blow minds when they hit the stage at Good Things Festival in December! The rest of “Tekkno” follows the same trend of playful, over-the-top choruses with transitions that bitchslap you in the face with their harshness.

All of the aforementioned elements flow quite nicely into ‘ We Got The Moves‘ which could essentially be described as a sibling of ‘ Pump It‘, only this time, the heavy chuggy guitars are the main focus outside of the chorus, alongside forceful drums, hard-style synth beats and easily accessible screams and cleans that go hand in hand like a seasoned moshpit fiend and their pop music loving partner at a local show. They have to be; there’s no way to twist this as a serious endeavour anymore, so why not crank up the unrepentant, unapologetic kitsch of it all and just go from there? Arrow of Love’ is a cheesy electronica party anthem stating “I’m gonna give my heart to everyone around, I’m gonna share my love with everyone”, jumping from heavy metalcore riffs to a high tuned staccatoed synth section. However, it might not be what fans of their earlier sound – or even just ‘Hypa Hypa’ – are expecting. It’s a happy, psychedelic ride that occasionally turns into a nightmare, like the beautiful chaos that is “Mindreader,” arguably the heaviest track on the album. You don’t get lines like “Shaky, shaky, sweaty, sweaty / You make my spaghetti ready” from Tekkno Train by any band under the illusion of playing it straight. None of the songs on this album even surpass the four-minute mark, so the group gives you ten quick and easy-to-digest dance metal tracks, that get straight to the point and don’t drag themselves out.
