Here is how the publishers explain this addition: “since the author of Mafatih mentions only the first part of certain supplications because of their length, without mentioning the rest, we mention the rest of those supplications so that people who have this book do not need to refer to another book. The points of etiquette pertaining to ziyārah are many and here we shall confine ourselves to noting a few. His many works include: o Al-Baqiyat al-Salihat , Hadiyyat al-Za'irin , Fawa'id al-Rajabiyyah , al-Li'ali al-Manthurah , al-Tuhfat al-Tusiyyah on the topics of ziyarah , supplications and observances; o Nafas al-Mahmum , Muntha al-Amal , Anwar al-Bahiyyah , Bayt al-Ahzan and Tuhfat al-Ahbab , on biographical accounts of the Prophet’s Family and Companions; o Al-Kuna wa al-Alqab , Hadiyyat al-Ahbab , Tufat al-Radawiyyah on biographical accounts of scholars; o Safinat al-Bihar , a subject index and guide to the contents of Allamah Majlisi’s Bihar al-Anwar.

In the Muqni‘ah Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣādiq ( ‘a) is reported to have said, Those who visit me shall be forgiven their sins and they will not be destitute at death. Allah, keep me safe and protect me and whatever is with me from harm, and enable me and whatever is with me to reach the destination with Your good and gracious conveyance.We saw that this version does has not any chapterizing, so, we chapterized it according to the original text of Persian and then Arabic Translation of it. Shahīd Awwal (r) says [50] that when on entering the shrine one observes that congregational prayers are being held, one should first attend the prayer before making the ziyārah. Then You favoured them with the successorship of Your prophets for the preservation of Your precepts and laws. Al-Sha'baniyya Supplication (one of the recommended acts in the month of Sha'ban), Supplication of Abu Hamza Thumali, Du'a al-Iftitah, the famous Du'a al-Sahar, the practices of the Qadr nights (of the recommended acts of the month of Ramadan), and Du'a of Imam al-Husayn (a) on the day of 'Arafa (of the practices of the month of Dhu l-Hijja) are among the most well-known contents of this chapter. In houses Allah has allowed to be raised and wherein His Name is celebrated, He is glorified therein, morning and evening, by men whom neither trading nor bargaining distracts from the remembrance of Allah, and the maintenance of prayer and the giving of zakāt.

Here it would be appropriate to mention certain verses of Sakhāwī as well as the report cited by ‘Allāmah Majlisī (r) in the Biḥār from ‘Uyūn al-Mu‘jizāt. Although Shaykh Abbas Qummi did not allow any content to be added to Mafatih al-jinan, publishers attached a second addendum to Mafatih al-jinan.
