Still, depth is easily adequate for music and does impress with its richness on certain tracks, but those wanting to fill a large space or achieve an extended, visceral bass response will want to look towards one of Kanto’s or a third party subwoofer.

Each stand is built with heavy-duty steel to reduce undesirable vibration and features a hollow core to conceal cables and speaker wire. It sounds very listenable, but doesn’t really ‘kick on’ in the way that some digital sources so often tend to. On another note, vocals are loud and equally as prominent with the highs and mids, but that element does sometimes take centre stage, almost to a point that it drowns out everything else. Both of these factors enable testing in ordinary rooms yet results that can be more accurate than an anechoic chamber.The commendable neutrality of the EAT is left intact by the Kanto and while some of the finer details of Hummingbird Blues that I know to be on the record are harder to discern here than on some more expensive setups, the overall balance is extremely enjoyable.
