I don't know what the instructions are for mine any more- on a 1000w microwave for 2 people or so, I add water to about 1 knuckle above the rice (rinse thoroughly first) then microwave 12 mins, leave lid on for another 5 mins.

The cooking pot can be carried to the table and served before being washed in the dishwasher for pure convenience. For two scoops of rice, I usually microwave for 11 mins then rest the rice for 5 mins to absorb the rest of the water. Now I have adjusted quantities and timings slightly for our portion sizes and microwave, we have perfect rice every time. I always make a mess cooking rice on the hob - I either burn it or it boils over - so I am very pleased with this microwave cooker.

Quibbles aside, the Joseph Joseph M-Cuisine rice cooker cooks a nice pot of rice, does it faster than an electric cooker, looks good doing it, and takes up little space when not in use.It is not as big as I was hoping it would be as my previous rice cooker was much larger bought from Ideal Home Exhibition over 30 years ago. Both, of course, as the same thing, but it would be helpful if the company used colloquial terms that simple folks like me will instantly understand. The cooking guidelines would be better served by including more than just rice and porridge oats, anyway. In a world where Instant Pots are considered an essential kitchen appliance, I hate to admit that I don't own one.
