About this deal
Just by using your imagination and the right card combinations on your palette you can paint two or even three paintings and maybe even win the game in about 30 minutes.
Few things are as chill as Bob Ross painting happy little trees or styling a charming cabin next to a body of water. On a turn, the active player first rolls the die (and resolves the action of that die roll), and then the player takes 3 actions.
Then, look at the current Chill card – if there is a bonus condition on that card, look to see if you score for that. Bob Ross — The player draws the next Chill card and places it face up in the Chill card space on the board. As players paint different elements of Bob’s painting, they earn points based on the number of different colors used.
Players are then able to carry out three actions from a varied selection – collecting an Art Supplies card (they’re dual purpose – paints and brushes – in another smart touch) from the four face up cards currently on offer, drawing an Art Supplies card blind, swapping two colours of paint or two brushes for the matching Technique card (which gives an immediate victory point bonus, as well as further bonuses when completing features using that particular technique on a painting), painting a feature on the current painting and more. So when I heard that Big G Creative was coming out with another game based on our favorite afroed painter, I was excited, but a little hesitant.Bob Ross: The Art of Chill has a die that we lovingly refer to as the “Bob die” which is rolled at the start of each player’s turn. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I don’t know that I’d recommend everyone purchase it because of the ease with which you could recreate it on your own, but for those looking to add a little bit more theme to their gaming experience, this is a good pickup.
