The smooth and well-balanced nature of Beefeater 24 Gin makes it a versatile choice for classic gin cocktails, allowing the botanical flavours to shine through. Their classic London dry gin has been made to the same recipe since 1876, and uses nine natural botanicals including bold juniper, zesty Seville orange, and lemon peel. The taste of the standard Beefeater is still there but there is a greater depth of flavour, nothing that stands out or is overpowering but just subtle notes.

Continuing in this tradition the Master Distiller has created Beefeater 24 using the hand-prepared peel of grapefruit and seville orange alongside rare Japanese Sencha Tea. have made this point with respect to the Vodka Martini, and it bears repeating with respect to the Gin Martini. There are other differences as well, the Beefeater 24 is bottled at a higher proof (45 % alcohol by volume) which to me seems most welcome, and all of the ingredients are apparently steeped in grain alcohol for 24 hours prior to a 7 hour distillation where the master distiller makes an artisan cut by hand from the heart of the distillation run.The inclusion of Japanese Sencha and Chinese Green Tea in the botanical blend distinguishes Beefeater 24 from any other gin, helping to shape its unique aroma and smoothness, while the addition of grapefruit peel ensures that Beefeater’s signature citrus flavour remains present.
