The sound quality from this streaming board as is, is satisfying relative to generic CD player, or Bluetooth streaming.My DIY preamp testing platform, using Arylic Up2Stream Pro V3 board (in the back corner) as music streamer. Irritatingly, I can see the device registered as a DLNA client on my NAS OS but the app can't see the server so I can't choose it as a source. When i choose an album, it tries to load the first song but the buffering seems to crash after some seconds. The award I give this is heavily influenced by the very low cost of the unit but needs to be taken with caveats mentioned in the body of the review. However, go to the settings in the app and boost the bass right to the top and it comes together nicely.
It might not satisfy the ears of an audiophile with deep pockets, but for most people the sound will be more than good enough. We listened to more songs than those named in this playlist, but those are excellent for identifying a sonic signature. Sound quality is average, why stream Qobuz, Tidal or any other high quality data stream onto a average/mediocre DAC ?There is also a multi-room function where multiple devices can be paired together or set as a master/slave or in a more inoffensive term (parent/child) configuration.
