About this deal

Longevity is good 12h+ but projection and sillage is moderate in the first hour and intimate after that. Fragrance reviewers, sometimes only test fragrances on paper strips and don’t even try these on skin.

Honest question: WHY DOES IT SMELL LIKE EVERYTHING IN THIS GEM OF A POTION IS FIRMLY CENTERED AROUND RIPE ROSES? Not because it smells like your grandpa, not because it reminds you of past times you lived through, but because it is a great fragrance and it always will be.Vintage bottle finally in hand, I decided I had to do a side by side comparison with the modern version. The leather note is the most dominant and is then supplemented by an array of different aromatics, myrrh, oakmoss and aldehydes. The profile is overtly masculine, with sharp notes of wood and leather, lightened by floral undertones and an overall clean scent. At 34 minutes and 11 seconds into the movie, Bond takes a bath in the tub while on the phone with his friend Felix Leiter, while a large bottle of Aramis Classic rests on the metallic silver-colored table to the bottom left of the screen. Given the similarities to Cabochard, marketed towards women, as Azurée, it’s clear that for perfumers, perfume has no gender.

I take a shower, shave my head and slap on a heaping helping of some vintage Aramis (aftershave) Then I do the same to my beard with the old cologne. Can get a bit nauseating to smell even after a long day, but I can't deny I enjoy its distinctiveness. For added intensity: apply perfume directly to your pulse points and / or hot spots (wrist, inner elbow and lower neck). I have a partial bottle left over from the 70's which smells slightly more animalic and perhaps a bit more mellow than the current version, but that may be due to its extreme age. Today, the first warm morning of spring, it's the primarily bitterness of the artemisia and the flinty earthiness of sage and thyme, as supported by patchouli and smoothed over by myrrh, cardamom, and aldehydes. It’s a very good composition to be sure, and if you like this sort of classic aromatic men’s fragrance, you’re probably going to like Aramis, but nothing about it really stood out enough to set it apart from the many other 70s and 80s fragrances that scratch that itch for me personally.

I was smelling this nearly everywhere and I finally got up the nerve to ask a co-worker what he was wearing. It honestly just smells like a bar of soap that is heavy with oakmoss and maybe some very faint stale leather and lifeless wood kicking around in the background. I am 54 years old, and I think fragrances serves to complement a well groomed person… well bathed, nicely dressed… fragrances are meant to make you smell good… be it sweet or dry, floral or woody, fruity or citrus. Aramis is definitely a more mature fragrance but one that a younger man could wear in conservative work and social situations such as at the office or a formal dinner. In this regard, it reminds me of Habit Rouge by Guerlain (just sans the orange), which shares that very same quality. With this the user can measure the advertising ROI as well as track Flash, video, and social networking sites and applications. Aramis was created in 1966 and dedicated to men who appreciate tradition and classic, and this is the reason why this perfume is always modern.
