About this deal

He was jailed for five years in 2016 and is now back behind bars after being convicted of sexual charges against children at the High Court in Stirling in February. If you're looking for a story of courage and determination to do what is right no matter what the personal cost then this is the book for you.

Dana has nothing but praise for her Edinburgh secondary school, another “safe haven” where teachers were caring and committed. The Scottish Government has announced plans to stop automatic release for prisoners jailed for serious offences after two-thirds of their sentence.A very powerful read taking you on a journey of how a little girl got through and survived horrors you can only imagine to being an adult and taking the offenders to court. Hard to read without feelings of horror, but actually an essential read if you want to be aware of what people may be doing behind their `normal' facade.

That was surely not some kind of catastrophic coincidence, stars lining up in the worst possible formation to blight Dana and Heather Fowley's lives. That the girls finally raised the courage to testify against their mother and see her sent to prison for twelve years is in itself not surprising; the fact that the author still visits her mother and loves her is a gobsmacking revelation considering the levels of depravity and abuse she subjected her daughters to. How could such extreme suffering pass unnoticed by adults, especially in a school setting, where children spend so much of their time?

Just started reading this book, got to page 33 and have had to put it down to cry - How can anyone do such things to children - especially your own. There was the scale – at that time, it uncovered the biggest ever paedophile ring in Scotland – and the sheer depravity of it.

The pack includes lesson plans, group activities and hard-hitting digital media to help young people develop the knowledge and skills they need to make safe and healthy relationship choices. Dana Fowley was just five when her stepfather, Billy King, first sexually abused her when they were alone together. Finding out he was released and doing what he did and having kids of my own brought home the horrer of what real bogeymen are doing. I just wish someone had noticed the oddities earlier and maybe stopped these disgusting meat sticks from damaging those sweet children's lives. It takes courage for former victims such as Dana to speak about what happened to them in a bid to safeguard others.Years later, in 2007, her mother Caroline Dunsmore was jailed for 12 years for her role in the paedophile ring, a judge roundly condemning her for standing by and allowing her daughters’ torture. Many primary and secondary schools already invite organisations in to talk about child safety andor work with at-risk children. She was raped by her mother's partner and taken to the homes of her grandparents where she was abused by them and others. The government has also recently launched a national plan to tackle child sexual exploitation by paedophile rings and other abusers. Er worden weinig details prijsgegeven, maar de auteur vertelt op haast ‘luchtige’ wijze wat er met haar is gebeurd.
