About this deal

I’ve loved They’re Real since it came out and have since gone through 2 full sized tubes of it and 2 mini tubes, so I decided to try this out to see how it compares. I’m afraid this is where we part ways though, because the curl is nowhere near as pronounced and pretty as when my trusty Shu Uemura curlers have been let loose on my lashes. As you can see above I’ve shown what my lashes look like before applying the mascara and after I’ve applied it, I think it’s such a big difference and I love it!

Benefit’s Roller Lash mascara sets your lashes in place for up to 12 hours, I can confirm that this isn’t just spiel, my eyelashes were still perfectly curled by the time that I reached my nest (AKA bed). The tube is black with a baby pink top shaped like a hair roller (not on the sample size unfortunately), with matching baby pink writing on the tube. The magic of Benefit Roller Lash Mascara is all in the very new, very special and very different brush – the Hook n Roll brush.Though I can’t stand clumpy mascara — that is definitely not the look I am going for when I go to apply my mascara. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). I still haven't tried my sample from Elle, it's been sitting in my makeup drawer untouched but hopefully I will use it soon to see what all the hype is about.

It also gives amazing volume and thickness to the lashes and is noticeably different from They’re Real. CI 19140 (Yellow 5, Yellow 5 Lake), CI 42090 (Blue 1 Lake), CI 77007 (Ultramarines), CI 77163 (Bismuth Oxychloride), CI 77288 (Chromium Oxide Greens), CI 77289 (Chromium Hydroxide Green), CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (Iron Oxides), CI 77510 (Ferric Ferrocyanide, Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide), CI 77742 (Manganese Violet), CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide)]. I curled my lashes manually before I applied the mascara and after applying, it made my lashes droop and straighten. Removal was pretty easy but then I use cleansing oils to take my makeup off which makes life just so easy…lol.I wore this for about 11 hours and it showed no sign of fading or rubbing off so it is definitely long wearing. It really lengthened my lashes, more than any other mascara I have EVER used; like crazy extreme length. The item may be missing its original packaging, or the original packaging has been opened or is no longer sealed. Be very mindful to not have too much product on the wand like I explained above or things could get pretty clumpy.

A good jet black and the formula is not too wet, dry, thick or thin but has a creamy consistency that is easy to work with. But if I remember right, I think They’re Real was more about defining the lashes while Roller Lash is more about volume. No doubt I really like how it curls my lashes and make them stay that way for a long period of time. I bought this myself last week on the day it launched (the thirst is real, yo…lol) and I knew I was going to like it when I saw the brush. I don't leave too long a gap in between coats as it can start to clump up a little, if I go back for another coat later on I use the longer bristled side of the wand to apply as this produces less clumps. On days when I know I'm going to sweat a lot, cry or get caught in the rain (or swimming hahaha kidding), I'll keep a distance from it and opt for a waterproof mascara. The formula is similar to they’re real – as in it shares its inky black pigmentation and 12 hour lasting ability but I believe the consistency is slightly thinner so that the lashes are not weighed down so they stay curled up.
